Lamentations 3:25-26
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and impatient. We live in a world of instant gratification, where waiting is often seen as a waste of time. But these verses from Lamentations remind us of a profound truth: there is immense value in waiting on the Lord.
Waiting on the Lord is not a passive choice. Rather, it’s an active pursuit of His presence, a deliberate seeking of His face. In these moments of quiet anticipation, we often hear God’s voice most clearly. Like a farmer patiently tending to his crops, knowing that the harvest will come in due season, we too can cultivate a spirit of patient endurance.
But what does it mean to “wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord”? It’s not about sitting idle or being silent. Instead, it’s about surrendering our hearts to the Prince of Peace, Jesus, and choosing faith over fear even amid life’s storms. It’s trusting that God is working behind the scenes, even when we can’t see the results yet.
Remember, God’s goodness is not just a future promise but a present reality for those who seek Him earnestly. Each day, we have the opportunity to experience His love, grace, and provision. As we wait on Him, we grow in faith, develop perseverance, and deepen our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Whatever challenges you’re facing today, choose to wait on the Lord with hope and expectation. Take time to be still in His presence. Trust that He is good and that His timing is perfect. Pour out your heart to Him, yet listen for His gentle whispers. As you do, you’ll find strength renewed, peace restored, and faith deepened.
