Psalm 9:9

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

In times of trouble, where do we turn? When we feel lonely, burdened, or oppressed, the answer is Jesus. Psalm 9:9 reveals that God is our refuge in such moments, offering us shelter in His presence.

1. The Lord is a Refuge for the Oppressed
Life can feel unfair, especially when others succeed through dishonesty while we strive to live by Biblical values. In these moments, Psalm 34:18 assures us that God is near to the brokenhearted, ready to save those who are crushed in spirit. No matter the burden, we can bring it to God, knowing He hears us.

2. The Lord is a Refuge in Times of Trouble
Life’s storms, whether emotional, financial, or relational can overwhelm us. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, always present to help in trouble. Jesus invites us to come to Him for rest (Matthew 11:28), and the Holy Spirit intercedes for us (Romans 8:26), guiding us through our struggles.

Psalm 9:9 assures us that God is always there, offering comfort, strength, and peace. In times of trouble, we can trust Him to be the safe refuge we need.
