Psalm 28:7 NKJV

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.”

Psalm 28 begins with King David begging God to hear his plea for help. But a few verses later, his distress has turned into a declaration of who God is and what He does for those who trust in Him. With great conviction, David proclaims that the Lord is his strength and shield. He might not have received an immediate answer to his plea, but he has the assurance that the Lord will help him.

If you’re going through a stressful situation in your own life… if the days seem long and you’re just tired… you don’t have to rely on your own strength anymore. Lean onto Jesus Christ and let Him be your strength today and every day. He will shield your distressed heart and cover you with His peace. Turn towards the Lord, run to Him, and let Him give you the strength to face your troubles.

As you rest in the Lord and trust in His Word, you will be transformed from the inside out. Just like David, you will also find your weary heart starting to rejoice. The more you focus on praising God for who He is and thanking Him for what He’s done for you, the smaller your problems will seem. Trust in the Lord and don’t give up. He will make a way for you.
