Colossians 3:15 – “Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
We all have experienced moments of unrest, disturbance, disagreements, sometimes because of important decisions we have to make; other times because of conflicts in our workplace, our families, our relationships, even our marriage.
In moments like this, the only thing that cancels these feelings, is the peace that comes from Jesus. He said: “my peace I give to you…do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”. (John 14:27). Likewise, when we decide on something that gives us peace, we know it comes from God, because our God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33 – ESV).
The peace that comes from God must rule in our hearts, and it must overtake every feeling and emotion that goes against it. The peace that comes from God transcends our understanding, it is overwhelming and supernatural.
We also ought to be thankful to God for His blessedness and love towards us, because when we are thankful to God, our behavior and attitude towards others change and we can extend to them: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness and love. (Colossians 3:12-14).
So let’s daily pursue peace through Jesus, who is The Prince of Peace!
