The Peace of God – Part 2

Philippians 4:7 – “The Peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Knowing and experiencing God and all that He gives us, definitely surpasses all understanding because He cannot be easily understood or explained, and neither can we easily grasp the benefits of knowing Him.

To know that our God will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus for example, is one of these benefits.  And it is His peace that will be the guard of our mind, our thoughts, our emotions and consequently all our decisions and behavior will express that to others.

We are commanded not to be anxious about anything, to present our requests to God by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, so that the peace of God which transcends all rational understanding will become alive and active in our hearts and minds. (Philippians 4:4-7).

Furthermore, when this happens, it will divert our thoughts to think about whatever is true, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, whatever is excellent, whatever is worthy of praise, and then the God of Peace will be with us. (Philippians 4:8-9).

Jesus left His peace for us. Let’s take it, we receive it by grace. “For He himself is our peace.” (Ephesians 2:14).

And “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men, on whom His favor rests.” (Luke 2:14).

Amen!
