Matthew 6:6 When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
In the midst of packed calendars, Jesus invites us to a private meeting with God; to unleash the power of a secret prayer. It is a commandment to distance ourselves not only from the physical noise of the world but from the distracting noises of our minds. More than often our minds are preoccupied with multiple thought processes.
The secret place is a safe space for all. In this place, we can pour our hearts out without any pretence, and share our deepest fears, secrets, hopes, and dreams. God knows it all, but He still encourages us to come to Him in a secret place, because He understands our need to communicate and share, to trust and rely. Hence He allows us to be ourselves in His presence.
This divine session comes with its promise; our Father who witnesses our secret cries will openly reward our faithfulness. This isn’t a transactional exchange; it’s an invitation to experience the open manifestations of God’s grace, mercy, and provision in our lives.
Today, let’s heed the call to the secret place, shutting the door on the adversary and life’s distractions. In the secret place, we discover a God, a Father, who not only hears but openly responds, bringing rewards that exceed our expectations.
