The Worthwhile Wait

Psalm 37:9

For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

Many times we look at the lives of those who are evil and wicked and wonder how they can enjoy the good things in life despite being so unjust. Yet, how many times have we used the same scale to assess our own lives? Do we live each day like we sincerely desire the Kingdom of God or that God would fulfil our earthly desires? Do we have a continual attitude of gratitude or are quick to be hassled by the stormy gales? Are we thirsting and hungering for the Word like we would a sumptuous and lavish meal? Would we, by any chance fall into this category of “evil doers” on some days of our lives???!!!

Beloved, let us learn to wait on the Lord when it seems like our breakthroughs have been delayed. When years of hanging on seems like an eternity, trust God’s timing, He’s the God of eternity! He DOES NOT delay, His timing is perfect. He has got armies of angels constantly fighting on behalf of you. Just because you can’t see your release yet, doesn’t mean that you’ve been bound. We know that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free, NEVER to be bound again.

Make your waiting worth it by focussing on what God wants to do IN YOU and THROUGH YOU. He’s a good good father who will never leave you no matter what. Learn to be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him. Leave all your anxieties and cares at His feet. Be expectant, stay hopeful and don’t ever give up. The Lord your God is with you!
