Psalm 148 :13: Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
The Lord helps us to understand excellence! We have all heard that famous proverb – Practice makes a man perfect and still, this stands so true today. But the fact is what should we practice? What do we practice every day? What kind of habits we have? What kind of lifestyle do we lead? How different is Sunday than Monday? Though sometimes we cannot be praising the Lord with a thanksgiving heart every day, we can definitely agree that He is worthy of praises.
When we finish with a given day and go on our knees for the day what do we pray? Do we just say, ‘thank you’ and go off to sleep – as if we are doing him a favor?
God’s name is excellent which means it is extremely good. Exalting Jesus in every given moment is gaining excellence. When we exalt him despite our given circumstance; good or bad, he blesses us with his blessings. Praise is so important for those who believe in the existence of God because his glory is above the earth and heaven.
