John15:12 “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” KJV
Every action of our Lord is driven by His love for His people. This above verse is a conclusive statement that suggests beyond doubt that our God does not only act out of love, but also commands us to treat one another with deep fondness. This is not just a recommendation or a choice but a very important commandment in the Holy Bible.
Our Lord Jesus Christ has very categorically revealed to us that love is the greatest weapon. It was His love for us that motivated Him to die on the cross for our sins, thereby defeating death and emerging victorious. Our Lord Jesus Christ exercises this power of love to bless us, forgive us, chastise us and guide us in every step of our walk with Him. Our Lord has set an example for us through His immaculate character and commands us to display Godly love while dealing with one another. We as children of God are called to radiate His pure and holy love towards those around us.
It is quite difficult and nearly impossible to display such divine love in today’s world which is filled with lust, jealousy and ill intentions. However, if we allow God’s agape love to rule our hearts and take the lead, this can be accomplished. Philippians 4:13 says ” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Let us make this verse our motto today.
