Jeremiah 17:7 – “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.”
“Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.” (Psalm 2:12) “Blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust, who has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.” (Psalm 40:4)
Our God is our refuge and strong tower, our counselor and our defender, He sees beyond our thoughts, emotions, words, motives, weaknesses and strengths. There is not a thing we can hide from Him, He knows our heart, and He knows our heart can deceive us, and if our own hearts deceive us, so do the hearts of others.
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.” (Jeremiah 17:5) Therefore do not rely on the counsel and advice of another man because of their pride and falsehood; do not rely on their thoughts, emotions and limited vision when you need guidance. Do not rely on their strength either, because the strength of man is limited to their own flesh and arms.
Always fully, exclusively and entirely rely on the Lord of hosts. (Psalm 84:12)
Aren’t you overwhelmed and glad that we have such a God by our side? Who cares for us, who knows and calls us by our name, who hears our voice, who draws near to us, who forgives us and intercedes for us. And who gave Himself, through love, to die for us.
