Psalm 56:3-4
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
Fear is something we all encounter—whether it’s fear of failure, fear of loss, fear of the unknown, or fear of people. David wrote these words during a time of great danger. He was captured by the Philistines in Gath, surrounded by enemies, and his life was at risk. Yet, in the midst of fear, David made a choice: to trust God. Instead of letting fear control him, he chose to anchor his heart in God’s Word. He declared, “In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” This is not a denial of danger, but a declaration of trust in the One who is greater than any threat.
When fear rises in your life—regarding health, finances, relationships, or the future—pause and speak this truth: “I will trust in God. His Word is my foundation. He is my protector.”
Remember: Fear focuses on what might happen; faith focuses on Who is in control. Flesh and circumstances are limited, but God is limitless. Shift your focus. Praise God for His faithfulness rather than magnifying the problem. Worship turns worry into peace because it reminds you of God’s power and presence.
Fear isn’t from God. He gives a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind—everything you need to stand steady. When fear whispers lies, answer with God’s promises. Whatever the situations you may be battling, stand firm, knowing that the One who holds the universe also holds you securely in His hands. God says, “Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you” (Isaiah 41:10). Fear shrinks when you remember Who stands beside you and what He promises.
Yes and Amen
