Psalm 27:14

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart.

Waiting patiently on the Lord demonstrates our trust in Him. When we wait on God, we declare that we trust His wisdom and timing, even when it doesn’t make sense. Waiting may not be easy, especially if we are impatient by nature. But if we truly trust God, waiting is part of the process.

When we wait on the Lord, our lives are safe and secure in Him. Often, hasty decisions arise from an inability to endure the waiting period. Instead, we should remember that God has something perfect planned for us. Waiting on Him and trusting His timing strengthens our faith to see beyond what is immediately before us.

Today’s Scripture reminds us to be courageous while we wait. Our Father knows that we need courage to navigate the trials and tribulations of life. Courage enables us to confront danger and difficulty, not with fear, but with calmness and confidence.

This kind of trust and courage is experienced by those who know God as their personal Savior. When the Almighty God is the stronghold of our lives, we can be courageous and unafraid. Jesus Himself encourages us to take heart, for He has overcome the world. The Apostle Paul also reassures us in Romans 8:31 that if God is for us, nothing can stand against us.

May this Lenten season encourage us to wait consciously on the Lord in moments when we require strength for life’s journey or seek wisdom and encouragement. Our ability to stay strong in life’s journey is only possible when we allow God to strengthen us and carry us to the end.
