Why have hope?

Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭21-23‬ – “This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

When all is lost and you feel there is nothing left to cling on to, the Bible says you can hold on to hope. Our hope is in Jesus and that is something we ought to always keep in mind.

But why should you hope in Jesus? Here are 3 reasons:

1. God is merciful – He does not give us the punishment we deserve. He does not treat us according to our sins and shortcomings.
2. God is compassionate – He loves us more than anybody else on this earth ever could. He cares for us much more than a mother would for her baby.
3. God is faithful – He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. He remains faithful even when we are not.

When you can’t count on anyone else, you can always count on Jesus. Let yesterday remain in the past. God’s mercies are new every morning. He will remain faithful to you till the end. That is why you can hope in Jesus, and hold on to Him when all else fails. God will never fail you. He will never let you down.
