Worship in humility

Psalm 95:6-7
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand.

Today’s scripture emphasizes our state when we come to worship Him—a state of complete surrender, submission, and humility. A renowned Christian author writes “In His presence, man must bow down before Him, man must kneel in the attitude of complete submission and obeisance. This is a truth of which we need to remind ourselves.”

In Hebrew, the idea of worship essentially requires bowing down, repeating this with words like bow down and kneel only emphasizes and increases the intensity of the thought.

“Let us worship”, “bow down” and “Let us kneel” are three main verbs connected to the idea of being low and humble. Why?

Because “He is our Maker”. We did not make Him, He made us. A crucifix, an image of any are not our Makers. Our God is a great king above all gods. We must rejoice and worship Him and nothing which our hand has made.

Yahweh is also worthy of our humble worship because He is our God and we are His people or sheep under His providence and care. Our God deserves all our adoration because we can testify:

“Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, you are faithful”

So let us adore Him, Worship Him with that awareness in humility and total surrender and submission, He is faithful.

Blessed Day Ahead.
