1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭19 – “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”

Imagine what it would be like if Jesus said He was coming to your house today. You would make sure the house was spic and span, and everything was in its proper place. You would ensure that you family was at their best behavior and the atmosphere at home was good and peaceful.

But have you thought of how you are God’s dwelling place? The Bible says that you are a temple of the Living God. In the Old Testament, there were strict laws about the house of God. Nobody could easily enter in meet God face to face. Yet with all the privileges we enjoy, we do not take care of God’s earthly dwelling – ourselves.

If we are truly conscious that God Almighty dwells within us, we would take better efforts to keep our minds pure and our bodies healthy. Do not desecrate God’s sanctuary. Take note of what you are allowing into your body and your mind. Ask God to help you resist temptation in those areas where you constantly struggle. Accept His forgiveness when you mess up and strive to be more disciplined by the help of the Holy Spirit.
