1 Corinthians 15:57-58 – “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
Do you ever feel you seem to be labouring in vain? You slog from sunrise to sundown, but in the end, you don’t feel as if you’ve done anything substantial. Life, especially in urban jungles, seems to have become a series of mundane routines that keep you running a rat race. But is that all there is to life? Of course not!
Jesus promised us an abundant life, and He always keeps His promises. Your life at this point may feel depressing, stressful and overwhelming. But do not let the busyness of your everyday routine hinder you from serving the Lord. When you use your time, talents and treasure to serve the Lord wholeheartedly, you will see a glimpse of the abundance that God promised.
Take Paul’s words to heart – be steadfast, immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord… and your labor will not be in vain. God, who sees you working faithfully in the mundane, will reward the work of your hands and elevate you to positions you could not have even thought possible. So, do your work, labor for the Lord and reap the goodness of the Lord in your life.
