Zoe Life

Jude 1:21

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

A simple way to stay spiritually strong is to remain in God’s love and follow His will. In John 15:10, Jesus says that if we keep His commandments, we remain in His love. Today’s Scripture encourages us to do the same and look forward with hope to the mercy of Jesus that leads to eternal life.

As believers, we are called to remain in God’s love and wait for the fulfilment of Jesus’ mercy. Remaining in His love means choosing to dwell in the unconditional love of God (Agape love). God’s love is a safe place where we are accepted and secure. To remain in that love means living in obedience, gratitude, and dependence on Him.

We are called to live the Zoe life – the abundant, spiritual life that Christ has given us. His mercy is expressed in the salvation He’s already given us, which He will bring to completion when He returns. We live with our eyes fixed on His promise, trusting that His mercy will lead us into eternal fellowship with God.

With this promise comes both comfort and responsibility. We are comforted because God loves us and has prepared eternal life for us. At the same time, we have a responsibility to remain in His love and live with an eternal perspective.

As we continue to observe this season of Lent, let’s intentionally live in the reality of God’s agape love and keep our focus on the mercy of Christ that will be fully revealed when He returns.
