04 Shall we do the confessions together? I believe in the Almighty God, our father and creator. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God and my savior. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He suffered, died, and rose. He ascended into heaven. He shall soon come again. I believe in God the Holy Spirit was worshiped and my guide. I believe in holy fellowship, faithful giving and service to God in this church. I believe the Holy Bible is the perfect word of God. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I and I can do what it says I can do. Today as I learn the word of God here in my spiritual family, I [snorts] am blessed, healed, and anointed for a holy and victorious. I will never again be the same in Jesus name. Amen. The Lord bless us. Please be seated. Continue to pray for the Christmas and uh New Year prayer service we're going
07 to have in palace grounds. Keep it in your prayer that God's favor and blessing will be on it as people from all the four different services this 8:00 10:00 12:00 and the evening 6:00 you know we all come together and we worship the Lord pray so uh keep it in your prayer that it'll be a blessing and also this season church uh we're doing a lot of outreach programs uh activities pray that all of that will be a blessing that God will really bring harvest in our city by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. >> And um [clears throat] you know the Bible explains to us that Christ our Lord came to serve. Last uh week we looked at Matthew's gospel and we found how Jesus was portrayed as the king. We looked at Christ our Lord is the king but there's a mystery about the king which makes him so different from the kingdoms of the world and the kings of the world. Then the gospel of Mark uh we
10 see him as a servant someone who suffered who came to serve. He served the will of the father. He came to serve. And I want to learn with you today about so much of prophetic utterances about the lord that was fulfilled in his life. But he came to serve. Mark's gospel look at chapter 10 verse 45 and it says for even the son of man came not to be served but to and to give his life as a >> yeah so his life was itself a see service is something that God is God is a serving God that's the nature of our God but in Mark's gospel the Bible talks about him as a servant the servant who was to come. But when you really look at the scripture, you understand that he existed long before we could see him. Now all of us have a date of birth, which also means the date we began.
12 Date of birth also means the date of beginning. But in the life of Christ, date of birth doesn't mean the date of beginning. Date of birth only means the time we saw him. When God became a human, he always existed before his birth. Now, I want to show you at least two instances in the Bible where the Lord Jesus Christ walked on the earth before he was born on the earth. I'll say that again. The Lord Jesus Christ walked on the earth at least two times from the Bible before he was born on the earth. You have a lot of references to how Christ our Lord appears in the Old Testament because he is God. He always existed. You see, uh let's listen to it from Jesus' own words. John's gospel chapter 8 verse 58. And Jesus said, "Verily, truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "Before Abraham was born, >> Jesus always existed. He is God. He
20 always existed. Long before Mary held her baby in her hands, the son of God was already creating and serving and was God who made everything as we see it today. [laughter] Uh we all know the story of the garden of Eden and God created the beautiful garden of Eden. After the greatness of God had created it, every day God would walk with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day. That's that's sometime uh many say it could be cool of the day, could be the morning hours, but many others suggest cool of the day. Uh mostly is the evening time before the sunset. God came and walked with Adam and Eve. Now God who can't be contained in the heavens and the earth. How did he walk with these two people in the garden of Eden every day? [snorts] That's because it was Jesus walking with them. Now one day the both of them sinned and the both of them Adam and Eve sinned before God and lost the glory of God and they [snorts] were in that
24 perplexed confused condition and in the cool of the day by then it was evening and they heard the footsteps of God walking and they were scared mine he will find out that we have sinned. Well, he already knew they sinned. But he behaved as if he didn't know. God knows our sin, but he behaves like he doesn't know. Why? Because he doesn't force people to confess their sin. He always waits for them to come back and confess their sin. Look at Genesis 3:8. How that happened. And they heard, Adam and Eve heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. And Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the Have you seen movies, advertisements where they hide behind trees? All started here. They But here they weren't hiding from each other. They were hiding from their
27 creator and they thought they can hide there. Jesus our Lord was walking. You know, the earliest form of prayer was not a prayer mat and kneeling before God. That's a good thing to do. No problem. The earliest time of fellowship and prayer was to walk with God, to learn from God. Prayer is not just a time of begging what you want. Prayer is a time of fellowshipping with God Almighty, honoring his presence, spending time before him, of growing in his grace. Unless we understand what really prayer is, it won't be effective and it can be boring. Prayer is not just a time where you go with a list of what you want and tell God all what you feel and want. No, it's also a time where you fellowship with his presence. Where you honor his presence, where you await his presence, where you just go up there to say, "God, I just came to say I love you and I want to thank you for who you are to me." Now, that's the kind of prayer you find Adam and Eve practiced with
30 God. Prayer is a time of learning from God. It's a time where you worship him and honor him and [clears throat] express your gratitude and thanksgiving to him. And that's what we find Adam and Eve did every day. Every day they spent time with God. And who was that who came down? It was Jesus walking over there, walked with them, talked to them. You find Christ our Lord in the Old Testament again and again. I'm sure you're going to love the story. This is from the book of Daniel. There was a king called Nebuchadnezzar. [snorts] Funny name, not worth [clears throat] remembering, but the story is worth it. This guy for political strategy, he created an idol and commanded all should worship it. Okay? I think it was a Russian guy who said religion is the opium of masses. Right? Religion becomes very handy sometimes in political circuit and this was one of those old experiences in politics. Nebuchadnezzar created a huge
34 idol and said all got to worship it. I'm going to play music and at the time of music everybody got to fall down and worship that god. This is a order. If you don't, there is a punishment. And the punishment is we will throw you into the burning lake of fire. There's there's a whole huge furnace created, a fire created. And anybody who dares not to worship the God I create, the king ordered, will be thrown into that fire and will be burned to death. Not just you, your whole household and all the items you have, everything will be bulldozed and thrown into the fire. I'm actually [snorts] afraid to say these things loud because somebody might get ideas. But [clears throat and cough] but this is what the king ordered. And [snorts] the Bible says that three boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abindo were identified as people who said, "No, we can't do this. We worship a living God and we honor the king but this
38 commandment is something we can't keep. Immediately they were arrested and they were brought before the king and told that oh king your order is disrespected by these three boys. They are saying they will not honor your order and therefore you got to punish them. Now the king was extremely benevalent in that sense. He said well I want to give you a fair chance. There is a possibility you didn't understand the order. You didn't understand the consequences. So I want to because I'm also the judge of the country. So I want to give you a judicial moment to have a decision you make understanding the consequences of your action. That's an idol I have made and you got to worship. Now I'm going to create music. You're going to feel like doing it at that time. We all are going to do it. You just have to join us in falling down before the idol and just worship the idol. These three Jewish boys said, "Aha, king, we don't want to waste your
40 time answering this." Because the king also made another statement. The king said, "Look, if you don't worship, I'm going to throw you in that lake of fire I have created." And he added one more line. The king said to the boys, "Which God can save you from my hand that created that fire?" The boys looked at the king and said, "Don't waste your time. [laughter] Go ahead and throw us in the fire because we will not worship your God." One thing we know about our God, he is you ask can which God our God, he can save us from the fire. But we don't know if he will save us from the fire. But we know what we will do. We will not worship anybody except our God. That we know. [applause] You know, I sometimes feel that these three boys had more theology than most Bible college educated grads. These three boys said one thing. We know our God's ability. He can save us from the
46 fire. But we don't know God's plan whether he will save us from the fire. Can he heal? Yes. Will he heal? I don't know. Can he prosper me? Yes. Will he prosper me? I don't know. Can he save me? Yes. Will he save me? I don't know. But one thing I know, I will serve him. I will worship him. Whatever his choice, it is the right thing. Oh, go ahead. Give God a big hand. Hallelujah. Whatever his choice, his choices are always right. I don't worship him based on on his choice. I worship him based on who he is. There are too many Christians today who want to worship him if he does what they like and they stop worshiping if he don't do what they like. These three Jewish boys said God can but will he is his choice. We like him to save us. But even if he doesn't, we will serve him. We will love him. We will honor him. We will thank him. Oh, we are ready. Go ahead and
51 don't waste our time. Don't waste yours. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. >> There is always a challenge between can God and will God. The answer to the first is yes. God can. There is nothing he cannot. God can do anything and everything. >> But will he? His plans are greater than mine. I don't understand all his plans. But one thing I know, all things work together for good because God is working in it. He's got a purpose. He's got a plan. I may not understand, but I believe him. Go ahead and give him a big hand of praise. He's a good God. Hallelujah. The king got mad. Kings get mad because they can get mad. There's no one to question their madness. You got mad. And he ordered heat up the fire seven times hotter
55 and they claimed to have done it. And the fellows who were heating up the fire died in the fire because the king's anger was such that a lot of scientific methods of doing things went out the window. They did things in a hurry and people who were doing it died. And then these three boys, they were chained. The king said, "Let's watch this." As they sta sat in that amphitheater of Babylon and they saw these three boys thrown into the fire. And these three boys, the fire was so hot that their shackles burned off, the feathers on their feet, the chains burned off. And now these three boys were free. [clears throat] And they were walking in the garden also. They were walking because somebody was walking with them. These three boys were walking in the fire. They were walking in the fire. And there was a fourth one walking with
58 them. I don't know what they were talking. Daniel doesn't tell us, but they were walking in the fire. They couldn't feel the fire. But what's funnier is the fire couldn't feel them. Fire couldn't touch them because somebody else was walking in the fire. Greater than the fire. [applause] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Sometimes people look at your life and wonder how did this fellow come out laughing and joyful? How did she come out happy and thankful? They can't see. But there is a fourth one walking along with you. And you don't understand all of what you're going through. But you know that he that is with me is greater than everyone around me. You know in your heart the one who created the heavens and the earth is walking with you. Hallelujah. That was Jesus. Now there'll be people who ask how do you know that was Jesus? Nebuchadnezzar knows more than this doubting Christians. Read [laughter]
00 Daniel 3:4. Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, "Werein there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?" They replied, "Certainly, your majesty." And he said, "Look, [laughter] I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound, unharmed. And the fourth one looks like the Christmas baby. Looks like the Christmas boy. Looks like the December boy. Go ahead and take a minute to thank him and praise him. There's a fourth one walking with you. You can't see it, but Nebuchadnezzar can. The powers of witchcraft can. The demonic world can. Your enemies can. They know there is somebody walking with you. Hallelujah. He can't be bound. They try to put him on the cross and buried
04 him in the grave. But he not only came out of a barren womb, he broke the empty tomb and we walked out. That's the God that we serve. He is the servant of [screaming] Mark that walked from Genesis to Daniel. He's a walking God. >> He's a walking God. He walks through what nobody else can walk through. That's why Psalmist David said, "Yeah, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for he is walking with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Hallelujah. And Jesus was walking in the fire. He was walking in the fire. Pastor, such a big miracle. Did Nebuchadne change? Mm-m. Change is not based on evidence. Change is based on attitude. Nebuchadnezzar saw the son of God but didn't become a child of God. Many people see miracles but they don't
05 follow God [snorts] because God has given each one free will and it is their choice and God doesn't question it. Only be judged on the last day. This fellow saw the son of god and yet chose not to follow the son of god. These three boys were called out. Chadrach, Mishach and Abind go out of the fire. Fourth one is not there. A lot of times you don't see God. He's invisible but his works are visible. They walked out of the fire immediately sent for medical examination and they found that fire had no effect on them. Then Nebuchadnezzar wrote another political story. He said anybody who talks against this god they house will be bulldozed is there in the book of Daniel chapter 3 and they will be thrown because there is no god that can save like the god of these
07 boys. There is no god. When he said there is no god that can save like their god, he was also including the idol he created. Including that idol, there is no god that can save like this god. But I can't make his idol because I saw him. He looks like the son of god. I can't capture his image. He's greater than what a camera can handle. He's greater than what a photography can handle. He's greater than what gold can symbolize. He's the son of the holy God. I saw him. I saw him. He is the son of There is no God like that. The fire was there [applause] but it couldn't burn. You remember another story like that? There was a 80year-old man walking He was walking with his father-in-law's
11 sheep. How did that fellow become his father-in-law? He saw some ladies, fell in love with one of them. Be careful who you fall in love with. You'll end up with their sheep. I wasn't joking. Moses on the mountain sees a burning fire, but the bush on which it was burning was not consumed. The more the fire, the greener the bush. Beckers the laws of physics. Moses said, "This is interesting. I got to take a closer look." And God called out from the bush and said, "Don't come closer." The st place where you're standing is holy. But God, there's no church here. God, how can this place be holy? Where I am,
13 that is where it is holy. >> That's why you are holy because Christ lives in you. >> Oh, go ahead. Absolutely. Give him a big hand of thanks. Praise you know you know the practice of faith is different from the practice of tradition. The practice of faith is built on a deep relationship with God. The practice of tradition is about values and culture that we learn which is good which is very good. But when persecution comes, those who practice tradition don't understand why they go through the pain and sometimes they buckle under pressure. But those who practice faith under pressure, they experience the fourth man walking with them. >> Hallelujah. Many times we get confused. God, that person was a good believer, was a good Christian, and they are suffering and they're losing faith. Why? Well, they are holding on to their
15 tradition. But some others, they're holding on to the relationship with Christ. When you suffer for your faith in your relationship with God, you'll come out brighter and stronger. If you're just suffering for your doicile tradition, then we're not too sure that the Bible tells us Jesus existed way before he was born. And that's why when the Lord Jesus walked on the earth, many times when people wanted to know if he's the son of God, if he's really the Messiah who should come, he never pulled out his jacket and showed this mysterious big J. No, he didn't. There was nothing like that. He he he never showed his superpower but instead he went back to the scriptures and said look at the prophets what they have spoken and look how I'm fulfilling it. He always led people back to the Bible and from the Bible revealed himself. Every time you read the Bible
19 let it be to understand God. Let it be to know God. Yes, there are leadership principles there. Yes, there are miracle things there. Yes, you build your faith there. Yes, you learn history there, but do it so you know more of God. Hallelujah. Look at Luke's gospel. Luke's gospel chap 24 27. And beginning with Moses and the prophets, that's Genesis 2 all the way Malaki. Jesus explained to them [snorts] what was said in all the scriptures. That's how Jesus likes to Lord, I want to see you. God says, open the Bible and study it. You will see me. No, Lord. I want to see you in the fire. Really? You want fire? You want the whole drama? See me in the scripture. See me in my word. God wants us to look at him in the scripture. That's the mission. In fact, the prophecies about Jesus are so much. In Isaiah uh about 700 years before
23 Jesus was born, Isaiah the prophet said he will be born of a virgin, an unmarried girl who has nothing to do with a man. And the Bible tells us that Jesus was born of a virgin Mary. The Bible prophesied about 700 years before Jesus could be born about 700 BC. Mikah the prophet wrote it down in chapter 7 chapter 5:2 that he would be born in the town of Bethlehem. They gave the GPS location where he would be born and that's where he was born in Bethlehem. Samuel the prophet almost 1,000 years before Jesus was born in chapter 7:12 of the second book of Samuel said he will be born from the house of David. When Samuel was walking to anoint David in Bethlehem, he never knew that he was studying a chain, a link which would finally bring Christ into Bethlehem.
30 But that's where Jesus was born from the house of David. Malaki about 430 years before Jesus was born prophesied that before Jesus comes a messenger will come. And we know the Bible talks about how John the Baptist came preaching that the one coming behind me is greater than I am. Isaiah the prophet prophesied about the ministry of Jesus in Galilee. You'll find that in chapter 9 verse 1 and 2 that he would have a ministry in Galilee. John chapter 2 tells us that Jesus started his ministry in Galilee. There was this prophecy about Jesus, how he would heal the sick and the whole Bible is full of miracles of Jesus. Isaiah continued to talk about how all Jewish rabbis and prophets came as a blessing to Israel. But this Jesus, the savior of the world, would bless the whole world. That his gospel would change the world. That it would bring people out of
32 darkness into light. And that's exactly what happened for the Lord Jesus Christ. Service was not just an activity he picked up. It was the purpose to which he came. It's his eternal nature. All of us, we must be involved in serving. Serving is a blessing. But please remember we are not called to serve from our emptiness. We are called to serve from fullness. Don't serve to a point that you kill yourself. Serve to a point where you regenerate yourself. Revive yourself. Serve even in challenging times. There are times I've gone through uh struggles and happens to all of us, right? and you're in really no mood, absolutely no frame of mind to do any ministry. You're asking so many questions and and I've had my own seasons that you know, you wonder, I mean, really, God, really, do I have to go through this? Really, you want me to preach this week? God, I want to take a break. I don't
35 want to encourage anybody. I need encouragement. I need someone to pat my back and give me, you know, some kind of assurance. But sometimes you go through that. That's where we have to tell ourselves no matter what I will get up and serve and find strength in the process of serving. Don't become suicidal in serving. Find believe in what you preach. Amen. Just as you help others, receive help from God Almighty. And and and that is so important. When you study from the Bible on the principles of serving, you find that you should set boundaries. Look at the Lord Jesus. He [snorts] set boundaries. Learn to say no when you have to. Yesterday was a difficult day for me. I had to say no to my two close friends who invited me for something uh on on two different things and they were on the phone and saying, "Hey, you got to be there." I had to tell them, "No, I can't." And it was not easy because they're very dear to me. One of them is my friends for over 3540
38 years. I mean that makes me feel old. But anyway, uh that guy is old, not me. And when I told him no, I didn't feel nice at all. And I know he didn't feel good at all. Sometimes we have to learn to say no. And and and to say no and still be friends is not at all easy. But we got to learn to serve with boundaries. Some of us the problem is we don't have boundaries. We swim to a point there is no return and then we blame everybody. Don't do that. Serve meaningfully. Serve sincerely. [snorts] Define the way you give. Because you cannot give what you don't guard. You know sometimes after giving you feel like oh I lost it. Why? Because it was not a meaningful giving. After giving, if you still want to feel it was a gift you gave, it must be well thought out and planned. And don't make it transactional business where you give and expect something in return. Business is business. Charity is different. When
41 it comes to giving, I'm talking about serving without a return. Make sure there is space in your life where you are able to do serving others without expecting anything in return. But do that in a way that you don't damage yourself. You got to serve meaningfully otherwise you feel like you've lost something. You feel like you've invested in a wrong way and that's not good. Integrate your gifts. Now you know in some areas you're very good and strong. Serve in that area. If somebody is sinking and dying because they are in a flood, don't jump into the flood until you know you are sure of swimming. Otherwise you will just have fellowship in dying together. Make sure you serve in the area where you are strong. I know pastors who have become depressed after serving people who were depressed and it's really sad. Be careful. God wants us to serve but serve meaningfully.
45 One day uh uh two people were brought to the Lord Jesus and said Lord solve this problem. Now God knows everything. He came to serve. There's nothing that God doesn't know. But you know what the Lord Jesus said? I'm not a judge over you. I don't decide these matters. Really, Lord Jesus, you're walking away. The Lord was saying something very clear. Everything is not your headache. Learn to take care of your responsibility and what is not your responsibility, learn to walk away from it. >> Amen. >> Yeah. God is speaking to some of you louder than any Pentecostal pulling your hair and prophesying over you. Learn to or massaging your head and prophesying. Whatever whatever God wants us to serve in the area of our strength and allow others to serve us in our areas of weakness. And this is very important. Integrate your gifts into your serving and
49 prioritize taking care of yourself. Apostle Paul said it so beautifully. I'm careful that after all my preaching and ministry, I myself don't become a castaway. I myself don't become a reprobate. I myself don't become a failure. And therefore, I draw boundaries for myself. I don't indulge in what is not best. I know God can provide answers through others. That is divorship. Look at the Lord Jesus. He did it so meticulously and so perfectly. Are you all enjoying God's word today? I want to [clears throat] close with a story from the Gospel of Mark at how the Lord Jesus served. Thank you. Mark chapter 8. Let's read that whole passage verse 22 onwards. They came to Bethida and some people brought a blind man and begged [clears throat] Jesus to touch him. He took Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked,
53 >> "Hey, do you see anything?" He looked up and said, "I see people, but they look like trees walking around." I mean, the vision is not clear. Once more Jesus put his hand on the man's eye. Then his eyes were fully opened. His sight was fully restored and he saw everything clearly. Hold on. Jesus says something very important. Next line. Jesus sent him home saying go home but don't even go into betsida that village. Why? Okay, we'll get to the why last. What was the story? The Lord Jesus comes to bed. Remember last Sunday service beta kapern Pharisees tough gang legalistic people. God made one law. These made 500 out of that one law. These are the tough legalistic guys.
57 Very difficult to deal with them. They in fact many times the Lord couldn't do miracles among them because they are unbelieving. No matter what miracle you they'll find a fault in the miracle. So when Jesus came to Betha a group of people came and begged him. See the word beg. Why? Legalists they don't understand fellowship with God. They only understand begging God. Now begging God is a good thing in in terms of respect. But begging is a bad thing in terms of poor relationship. They begged him. So the Lord Jesus said, "Where's the problem?" They said, "Here's blind." Jesus held him by the hand. Didn't hold anyone else by the hand. Held him by the hand. When when Jesus held him by the hand, any blind man, you know, a blind person needs their hand to feel where they are going. Jesus held his hand. Jesus only point
59 was baby you're going to get healed. The only one you need to now feel is my presence. Jesus held his hand and walked him out of the village. Lord why don't you do miracle in the village? This is Betha. Sometimes to change your life, God will move you out of some relationships. Sometimes to change your life, God will move you out of some thinking, some patterns, [clears throat] some networks. God will move you out of some situations. He'll never move you out of this church. But but [applause] no, that was not accurate. But Jesus held his hand. You know, if the Lord holds your hand and you feel now you can't do what you want, rejoice. Because your hand may not be able to do anything. His hand is going to do what
01 is required. [applause] Hallelujah. Jesus held his hand. Sometimes, oh, we feel terrible when he holds our hand. Nothing is working. Whatever I do, nothing is happening. Don't know why I am in this situation. Maybe he's got a hold of your hand. >> Let it be him. Let it be him. Jesus held his hand and said, "Walk." [clears throat] and pulled him and walked him out of that village. Now the guy doesn't know where he is. Sometimes God will bring you to a place where you don't have anybody except God. >> Your total dependences on God. >> Hallelujah. And out there in all loneliness, Jesus touched him and said, "What do you see? I see people like trees." Jesus says, "Okay." You know, sometimes
04 God does some things a miracle instantaneous, but for some people it's conversational, progressive, step by step because God is not only doing a miracle, he's also transforming the person. He's changing that fellow's perspectives. What do you see? I see people, but I see them as products. I see them as opportunities. I see them as enemies. I see them as that and as this. I can't see them as what God has created. I can't see them as relatable. I see them as something else. You need one more touch. You need one more touch. You need to see clearly. You need to be able to see like how God sees them. >> Jesus touched him again. Sometimes some people take more touch than the others. Leave it to God. He's the master. Some get repaired in the first touch. Some need a kick also. It's okay. You
07 are in his holy hands. Okay. Kick is not in the Bible. I added that. Okay. Sometimes you need a strong touch from God. Don't worry about it. Lord, why in one touch they became okay? Why I need two touch, three touch? We have no idea. He knows what is best. Just allow him to take his time. He is forming something beautiful, something perfect, something with purpose. Go ahead, take a few minutes to thank him. His touch, his touch, his [applause and cheering] touch, his touch, his touch, his touch is perfect. When you come to church, let his touch be upon your life. Hallelujah. He can touch you through the word. He can touch you in the moments of worship. He can touch you through fellowship. He can touch you through moments of miracles. He's a God who touches. [clears throat] Sometimes he touches you when you serve others. Jesus touched him again. And now the guy says, "I can see clearly."
13 Jesus said, "Good. Go home, but not to the village." Why, Lord, you go back to the village. Probably you'll be blind again. Don't go back to that friendship. Don't go back to that channel. Don't go back to that nonsense conversations. Don't go back to that habits because your blindness can come back. But go back home and take responsibility. Avoid the village that kept you blind. Avoid the people that kept you blind. But have my presence that brought you light in the eyes. [applause] Jesus our Lord came to serve. He came to serve but he served meaningfully. Close your eyes and say, "Father, I want to be a beneficiary of that service. I want to benefit of what you serve and I want you to serve through my life along with my work, along with my studies. Let there be seasons in my life. Let there be times where I do
16 something for more than myself. But I do something in doing effectively so that you, oh God, can work through my life. Give me the wisdom to do it wise. Give me the wisdom and strength to do it careful, the patience to do it in the call of your grace. But give me the humility that I will serve, that my pride will not stop me from serving, oh God, that you will hold my hand. Thank you that just like you walked in the Garden of Eden, you walked the blind man out of the village. You're a walking God. You're a talking God. You're a moving God. Help me to move with you. Help me to walk with you. Help me [music] to experience you in a very personal way. Hallelujah. [snorts] Like you walked in the fire. Thank you that you are everpresent help in times of need. Even though I can't see you, I
20 thank you that you are with me, oh God. I thank you, Jesus, servant from the book of Mark. You came to serve. How often I have unknowingly rejected what you serve in my life. But today I humbly receive what you serve, oh God. Even if it feels like a spit on my face, I know it will bring light to my eyes. I thank you that you are the miracle working God. Everybody talk to the Lord for a few minutes. Surrender your commitments. Surrender your responsibilities. Surrender yourself. surrender your success or maybe pain and failure. Surrender it to God and say, "Father, work through my life. You came to serve and may my life in some or the other way serve your great purpose in and through the local church that I will be of service to your kingdom to serve your greater cause. That I
23 won't be a rebel. [music] that my pride will not stop me from accepting your word. Hallelujah. In this short life, may I serve you meaningfully, heavenly father, this beautiful day, we thank you that you spoke to us with absolute clarity. Thank you for your divine hand of favor. Thank you that you are a good God. There are no limits to your service. You serve to the very end. And thank you for your hand upon us. All of us are busy in this city. But Father, we never want to be so busy [music] that we have no time to walk with you. Help us to fellowship with you. Help us to focus on you. Help us to be guided by your Holy Spirit. Thank you that this is a month of Christ our Lord. And thank you that we will walk forward this month with your
25 presence, with your grace. Even if we have to walk out of the village, if you are there, that is more than enough. Hallelujah. To you, Lord, be all the glory and honor in Jesus' name we pray. And the people said, "Amen." [snorts] Shall we all stand? We'll sing a song [music] before we pray and close. I have found a friend in Jesus. He's [music] everything [singing] to me. He's the fairest of 10 thousands to my soul. The lily of the valley. In him alone I see all I need to [music] cleanse and make me fully whole. In sorrow he's [music] my comfort. In trouble, he's my stay. He tells [music] me every tear on him [singing] to roll. He's the lily of the valley. [music] He's the fairest.
33 He all my grief [music] is taken and all my sorrows. In temptations, he's my strong and mighty God. [music] I walk for him forsaken and all my idols torn from my heart and now he keeps me by his power. [music] Though all the world forsake me. Oh yes through Jesus I shall safely [music] reach the go. He's the lily of the valley. He's [music] the fairest of the thousands to my soul. Oh, he'll [music and singing] never never leave me. While I live [music] by faith and do his blessed way. [singing] I want a fire about me. [music] I'm coming out of [singing] here. Sweeping up the glory [singing] to see
37 his pres. [music] Oh yes, he's the lily of the valley. [music] He's the fairest golf in thousands. Go ahead, [music] church. Take a few minutes to just clap your hands.
