00 Thank you, pastor. Beautiful time of praising and worshipping God. How many of you are excited to be in the house of God this morning? Amen. Let's do the confessions together. I believe in the almighty I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, God and my savior. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin. He suffered, died, and rose again. He ascended into heaven. He shall soon come again. I believe in God the Holy Spirit who is worshipped and my guide. I believe in holy fellowship, faithful giving, and service to God in this church. I believe the Holy Bible is the perfect word of God. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. And I can do what it says I can do. Today, as I learn the word of God here in my spiritual family, I'm blessed, healed, and anointed for a holy and victorious living. I will never again be the same in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Please be
03 seated in God's presence. And I'm sure you've got the booklets. All right, let's dive into today's Bible study on the doctrine of salvation. This is a beautiful doctrine. Uh it is actually the center of our Christian faith. We have been doing doctrines for the last couple of months. And all those doctrines actually make sense when you study the doctrine of salvation. You will understand why Jesus came down when you study the doctor of doctrine of salvation. You will understand why the Holy Spirit wants to dwell in your life when you study the doctrine of salvation. You will understand the purpose of the church and eternal life when you study the doctrine of salvation. So, this doctrine is in the central part of our Christian faith. And very interestingly, this doctrine has two parts to it. One is the
06 questions that human beings ask. Who am I? Why am I broken? Why am I lost? Why is the world such a broken place? And who can save me? Those are the questions every human beings ask. That's right. And on the other side, the doctrine of salvation has What is God doing? Why does God wants to save human beings? What what what What is God doing for his rescue plan? And how is he connecting human beings into his family? But today we're going to deal not with the first part, but the second part, that is the story of God, God's story of salvation. Because when we did the doctrine of humanity, you can go back and check, we dealt with ourselves. >> [clears throat] >> We are sinful, we are broken. You don't want to hear that depressing story one more time. Let's look at the story of God. The Bible is a beautiful
11 uh scriptures. The Bible shows us that we cannot search after God. We are so weak. We cannot reach out to God. God came looking down for us. Hallelujah. All of the world religions is based on the concept that we're going to reach up to God. There's a ladder. Religion is all about religare. The the the Latin word for religion is religare, to connect, to rope in, so that you can connect with the divine. Pray, fast, seek God, do the sacrifice, do the ritual, do this mindfulness and meditation, all these things to connect with the divine. But the story of the Bible begins with God who is coming down to search for us. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. A God who is looking for us. A God who is coming and touching our lives. Hallelujah. Starting with the pages of the Bible, the beginning of the Bible in Genesis, you will find, "Adam, where are you? Adam, where are you?
15 Abraham, I'm going to bless you. You were an idolater. I'm going to come into your life and I'm going to bless you. Moses, you are depressed and dejected. You wanted to do something, but the burning bush experience, God coming in search for Moses. Talk about David. Talk about all the prophets. Hallelujah. God is a God who is looking to us. He's in search of us. Hallelujah. Come to the old New Testament, you will find Peter, the disciples, Jesus is, "Come and follow me. You've been a fisherman and all these long. Come and follow me." God met Paul on the way to Damascus. God is a God who is engaging with his people. Hallelujah. This morning, you are not here by accident. God found you. God sought you. God saved you. Hallelujah. We are here by the grace of God. You must have taken the efforts to put on those dress and find some time to come and attend the Sunday service, but believe me, God has
19 been working in your life. Hallelujah. It is his grace, his salvation. He is a God who is looking out for you. Hallelujah. That's why the first last paragraph of that first page, the word Yahweh in the Bible is the personal name of God. When Moses spoke to God, say, "God, tell me your name. What what am I going to tell the Pharaoh? What is your name? And God said, I am that I am. And the Jewish culture began putting a name that can't be even sounded. It is so holy, you can't even pronounce that name. And they put it as Yahweh. They translated as Yahweh, Adonai. And you know what Yahweh means? He's your deliverer. Hallelujah. He's your rescuer. That is how God is introduced. He's a deliverer. And thousands of years later, Jesus comes into the picture. You know what his name is? Yeshua. Yahweh will save you.
24 Hallelujah. The angel appeared to Mary and said, "Hey, you're going to be born with a child and the child's name is going to be Jesus, who will save us from the sins of the whole world." Hallelujah. The need for salvation. Why do we need salvation? Two important truths. One is you're made in the image of God. The on the other side, we are broken and lost. Many a times when we live in the city of Bangalore, we don't feel like we need to be saved because the modern society has curated the environment in such a way that it is teaching you and me that money will save you. You don't need God. And one of the accounts name is saving accounts. Money will save you. You don't need God. Technology and science will save you. AI will save you. Entertainment will save you. The
25 pleasures of this world will save you. If nothing of this can save you, you have your dream, yourself. You can save yourself. These are the messages that goes around, the environment. That is the modern society. That is how secularism work. The last 40 to 50 years, what is going on is nothing but secularism. Throwing God out of the picture and trying to fill those space with things. All these things are good. I don't want to live in the ancient world. I love modern society. Come on, somebody. I love to have some comfortable life. I don't want to go back to the ancient world. Thank God for the modern society, but there are disadvantages that comes along. Sometimes you feel that you don't need salvation. You feel money will save you. You feel entertainment will save you. But believe me, with all this technology, we are more lonelier than before. We are more anxious than before. With all this entertainment, we are so lonely. With more social media, we don't have a meaningful relationship. Look at
30 what all these things has brought us to. With more wealth and capitalism, there is less joy and happiness. Correct, right? With more communication tools that we have, there is enough and more brokenness in relationship. Modernity has made life easier, but it has not made our heart whole. That's why the Bible says, you are made in the image of God. You will be only be satisfied when you are connected to God. Hallelujah. It is like fish out of water. The fish lives in water. That is the environment. Imagine the fish jumps out of the water, comes to the shore. Imagine that you're going to build a nice, luxurious five-bedroom apartment for the fish. Imagine that you're going to polish the scales of the fish, put a lipstick on the fish. Imagine that you're going to buy a Mercedes-Benz for the fish.
32 Whatever said and done, the fish is dead. Life of the fish is in the water. Many of us live in the city like we are fish out of the water. Get connected to God. That is where your life is. That is where Jesus comes and says, "I bring you life and life in abundance." Hallelujah. Let's read Ephesians chapter 2 verse 4 and 5. But because of his great love for us, God who is rich in mercy made us alive with Christ when we are dead in transgressions and sin, and it is by grace you have been saved. Hallelujah. That's why someone said so beautifully, "Our heart is restless until we find our rest in God." I'll repeat that one more time. Our heart is restless until we find our rest in our God. Page four, the source of salvation. Who is the source of our salvation?
37 Yeah, the Bible is so confident and it sounds very arrogant, but believe me that is the only truth. >> [clears throat] >> Like how our pastor says, if you have if you are sick, if you have a fever, and if you go to a pharmacy, they give you one Dolo 650. So many medicines are there. Why can't you give one of everything for my sickness? You need only Dolo 650. You need only Jesus. You don't need everything. Hallelujah. Let me give you three reasons why Jesus is the only savior. Jesus alone can save us because he came from heaven. Hallelujah. He's not a man who became God. He's God who became man. He came from heaven, so he knows the way to heaven. Whom do you want to trust? A person who through ChatGPT studied about a city or a person who lives in a city?
39 A person who lives in a city. They know the place. God came from heaven. He knows that way and he's telling you, "I know the way. I came from the Father. No one else have ascended to the Father." That is Jesus. Jesus says, "I came from the Father." Because we live in a world of counterfeit. We live in a world of fake news, fake uh spirituality, fake promises. God is here, God is there. That's all beautiful. God is over there, God is here. This is the way. But Jesus never claimed, "I'm one among the other way." He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Hallelujah. He came from heaven, so he knows the way. Point number two. Jesus alone can save us because he lived a sinless life. Everyone is affected by sin and we can't save each other. We can bring some reforms to one another. We can help one another. It is like a blind man helping another blind man. But
43 imagine two prisoners are in a in in a in a cell. Imagine if both of them are saying that let's let's find an escape plan. No, you're in a security prison. Somebody from the outside has to come and open the door. Jesus came, became the man, the sinless man. Which Adam couldn't live. He lived. He became a perfect sacrifice. Hallelujah. He lived a holy life, a righteous life, and he did what nobody else did. He became man. A perfect human being and he became a perfect sacrifice. That's why John the Baptist looked at Jesus and said, "Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the whole world. He's the perfect lamb of God. Third reason, Jesus alone can save us because he paid a price for your salvation. Everybody can do the talking. Everybody can give their yarn and wisdom about how to reach God, but here is Jesus saying, "I pay a price with my life. Hallelujah.
49 With my blood, I purchased you. Salvation is costly. It It might be free for all of us, but salvation is costly because Jesus shed his blood on the cross. He died in our place. He was buried, and on the third day he rose again in victory over sin, death, and grave. And his resurrection is God's declaration that the work of salvation is complete. The finished work of the cross, the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross is the foundation and source of our salvation. You can't add anything to it. Hallelujah. That is why Christianity is so different from all other religion. Even though Christianity is historically a part of religion, but Christianity is so different because here Jesus done it all for us. That's why on the cross he said, "It is finished." Not, "I am finished."
52 Jesus said, "It is finished." All what human endeavors and efforts to reach out to God, Jesus said, "I took it on myself. Now you have access direct access to God through me, by faith, by grace. Hallelujah. That is what Jesus did for you and for me. It's not only Jesus, you will find the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three of them are engaged in this goal of salvation. That's why you read in John chapter 3 verse 16 for for God so loved the world. The Father loved the world. The Father loves you. Hallelujah. The heavenly Father loves you. And he initiated a plan and the son accomplished it. Jesus Christ accomplished it and Holy Spirit applies it on your heart and mind every day. Hallelujah. The entire Trinity is engaged in bringing lost people home. Now listen to the heart of God. This is so important,
55 the doctrine of salvation. First Timothy chapter 2 verse 4. God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. God desires that all be Hallelujah. All means all. He desires that all be saved. Not a few select, not the one who are perfect and righteous. He desires that all be saved. That's why Paul writes in Romans 10:13, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." And the good news of the gospel is this, God has opened his kingdom for us. God has opened his life for us and he has done everything necessary for saving us. Now our job is just to repent, believe, and walk with him. Hallelujah. Many years back I thought salvation is 50/50.
58 50% me, 50% God. And over a few years down the line I thought it is 80/20. God does 80 part, I do 20 part. Now I believe 99.5 is God's part. .5 That is a synergy. God does the maximum work. He initiates. He desires. He He He executes the plan. We just have to put our faith in him. This month of faith we have been learning about faith, putting confidence. It's a substance. It's a surrender. It's a trust, trusting God. That's all we just need to do. Page seven is the full spectrum of salvation. If you ask a typical believer, what is salvation? If you ask anyone over here, the quick answer is, accept Jesus. And I'm born again, and I'm on my way to
02 heaven. I'm forgiven. My sins are paid. Jesus came into my life, and I've got a ticket to heaven. That's a beautiful narrative. That's a beautiful story. But salvation is so huge. It is God's restoration project. I was so amazed by seeing this different facets of salvation. That's why you have around 10 words, the vocabularies the Bible to explain salvation. The depth of salvation, the mystery of salvation is so huge. Let's not dilute salvation just by a ticket to heaven, or just to manage my sins. Many of us want to be saved because I want to manage my sins. I want forgiveness, forgiveness from Christ. Oh, I want to have a ticket to heaven because hell is hot. Heaven is cold, air conditioned. So, I I just want a ticket to heaven. But it's beyond that. Salvation is the restoration project of God. Let's look into the first word over there. The word
05 deliverance. Hallelujah. Salvation is first explained to us as a word of deliverance. Jesus himself is our deliverer. In the Old Testament, the picture is of Israelites being rescued from the Pharaoh, the Egypt. 400 years they were slaves. And God comes into the picture and brings them out through the leadership of Moses. And and the word deliverance is actually snatching out from and another empire, snatching you out. That's why you read in Colossians chapter 1 verse 13, he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his dear son. This is what happened to you and for me. You're not a rescued from Egypt, you're not rescued from another country, you are rescued from the kingdom of Satan, darkness, and you have been transferred into the kingdom of his dear son. Look at the word transferred.
07 You're no longer in bondage, you're no longer in sin, you're no longer in the curse. You have been transferred. You are in the kingdom of the dear son, Lord Jesus Christ. The second word over there, I'm going quickly because we have to finish. The second word over there is redemption. Deliverance tells us how God rescued us. Redemption talks about what cost him. Deliverance talks about what is the plan that God used to rescue us, save us, but redemption is the word that is used, what did it cost God? That's why it says in 1 Peter, we are redeemed by the blood of the Jesus. There is a cost to it. That means God paid a price. I like this. Imagine yourself as being sold in a slave market. And God comes into that slave market and pays for you and purchases you. Hallelujah.
11 That shows an important thing. You are valuable in the eyes of God. Hallelujah. God decided to pay a price. You were not one among the animals. He could have recreated those animals. He could have recreated the the plants and the animal and the cosmos, but you are so valuable. God decided to come down. Not even for angels. It is for human beings because you are made in the image of God. Hallelujah. The third word, forgiveness. Man. We've been singing about forgiveness. Our sins are forgiven. We were enemies with God because of our sin and rebellion, and God said, "I forgive you." Hello. I forgive you. Imagine you have a debt in the bank or you owe the bank 1 crore rupees and they keep calling you. They send their gundas. They they they send letters, emails to retrieve your money back. But one fine day the bank manager says somebody has paid for you that 1 crore rupees.
14 Oh, what a joy on your face. By hearing that itself you're like happy. It's not even your 1 crore rupees, but somebody's. That is forgiveness. That feeling is forgiveness. Hallelujah. Your debt is canceled because Christ paid for you on the cross. Forgiveness is not God pretending that sin never happened. No, no, no. He says, "I'm forgiving you because the punishment came upon the son, Jesus Christ, and I receive you as a part of his family." Many of us have received forgiveness from God, but we walk around guilty with full of shame. The old failures. The devil will come and remind you you are still a sinner, but keep reminding the devil. Keep reminding your past. I am saved by the blood of Jesus. I'm redeemed by the blood of Jesus. I'm valuable in the eyes of God. Thank you. Fourth one, justification. Just as if you have not sinned. It's a legal court
17 uh you know word that is given there. Justification. You were guilty, but in the court Christ came and paid for your sins and you are tagged or categorized as not guilty. And it's not only that. It's not only that you are called not guilty, you are given the righteousness of God. That is the beauty of justification. I can understand when my my when my debt is paid. I can understand when my uh uh uh sins are paid or the punishment of sin is paid. But here Christ comes and puts his righteousness on you. Hallelujah. Remember the old story uh bank manager calling you and saying your one crore is somebody has paid for it already. And you get another call. Somebody has put 10 crores into your bank account. Hallelujah. See the joy on your face today. >> [laughter] >> Look at that. That is what Christ did
20 for you. Hallelujah. That is justification. Not only your sins are paid, Christ says, "You are my righteousness." God looks at you and see Jesus in you. Me uh pastor? Yeah, yeah, you. When the whole trinity, the angels look at you, they see reflection of Jesus because the righteousness of Christ is in you. Hallelujah. I know it's very hard to believe, but clap your hands. Praise God for the righteousness God has placed in your life. You may not understand it because it is still a mystery. Me uh pastor, I'm still struggling with our thoughts. I'm still struggling with those failures. The devil keep reminding me the trials, the temptation. I look like a failure. No, no, no, no, you are the righteousness of Christ. Hallelujah. And the fifth one, reconciliation. Oh mine. It is much larger than justification. Your debts are paid, you got righteousness of God,
22 but reconciliation, you have access to God. Hallelujah. No more God is distant. I can understand when someone pays your debt from a distance. I can understand when somebody puts more money into your bank account from a distance, but now you can approach that person. You can Imagine if the Saudi prince did it and you're allowed to go into the Saudi prince's palace without you getting shot down. You have access. Hope you're getting this. That is what reconciliation is all about. By our sins, we were enemies with God. By our rebellion, we were enemies with God, but through reconciliation, the concept of this part of salvation, we have direct access to God. Hallelujah. That's why I love the story of the prodigal son in the Bible because Jesus is the one who told that story. It covers all the five elements that I told you right now. The prodigal son left the house. He said, "I don't want any more share with you. I want to live my life, my way, my
27 world." Suddenly he realized it's a failure. He comes back home. The father sees him. And father runs towards him. Even before somebody could throw stones at him because the whole village knows he's a cursed fellow. Because he wanted his own father to die and leave the house and property and shares he wanted. The inner and father gave that inheritance. Why is he coming to the village? You know why father ran? Father ran so that he wanted to protect him. Hallelujah. Anybody before anyone else could attack him. The father came and protected him. And not only protected him, he put a robe on him. He put a gold ring on him. He put a sandals on him. He restored that relationship, reconciled, justified, redeemed by giving a golden ring, and you are delivered. Hallelujah. And that fellow was still stinking. He just returned from
30 pig stall or cow shed, whatever whatever it is. He was stinking. Father did not say, "Ooh, ooh, ooh, full smell. Go take bath and come, son. Then I'll put on." No, no, no. He ran, he hugged, he put on the robe, and he kissed him, the Bible says. Oh my God. What a direct access to God. Hallelujah. That's exactly what Jesus did in your life. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Let's move on. No more time to clap. I think that is next one. The sixth one is adoption. You're adopted into the family of God. The greatest privilege of adoption is not that you're getting into heaven. The greatest privilege of adoption is you can call this God your heavenly father. Ooh, that is beautiful. You have access to God. I can understand that. But now you can call this God your heavenly father.
32 That means he calls you his son, his daughter. That is what salvation purchased for us. Seventh one, union with Christ. Oh, this is another bigger mystery of salvation. You are in Christ. That's why this is the most repeated phrase in the New Testament. Around 150 times it is mentioned in the New Testament. You are in Christ. You are like a branch that is connected to the vine. You are in Christ. That's why you'll read in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation." Did you in Christ? Did you read that there? Romans 8:1, "That now there is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." And Paul in Ephesians 1, he keeps repeating, "Blessed in Christ, chosen in Christ, redeemed in Christ, and gives an inheritance in Christ." Hallelujah. Number eight, sanctification. This is more faster than the bullet
37 train in Japan. The way we are going. Sanctification. Salvation does not end the very day we begin and believe in Jesus. Sanctification is a process where the Holy Spirit continues to transform you into more like Christ. That is another part of salvation, which we will deal in the next month's Bible study, the doctrine of sanctification because it is so huge. God not only saves us saves us from sin, he also transforms us into the likeness of Christ. Hallelujah. Have you heard about the Michelangelo, the the sculptor, the stone sculptor, the painter, Italian guy in 1500s? He made the famous statue of David. And it was a masterpiece of his work. Many people came and admired, "How did you do this? Big block of stone, you chiseled and made David out of it? King
40 David? That is amazing. How did you do this? And his reply was, I chiseled away all that didn't belong to David. That's what Holy Spirit does for you and for me. Through this process of sanctification, he chisels out all that doesn't belong to Christ. All that doesn't belong to Christ, he keeps chiseling away. He keeps moving it out from your life. That's why he's keeping you alive some more time on this earth. Otherwise, the day of your baptism, you should have gone straight up to heaven. We should have just opened the roof of baptism tank. Immediately, you should have gone up. No, God said, stay for some more time. There is some more work to do. That's why the ninth one is healing. Hallelujah. This is another profound sermon itself. Salvation and healing goes hand in hand. It is so surprising that the word the Greek word that is used for salvation, sozo, s o z o, sozo
46 is the same word that is used for healing. Your faith has saved you, you will find in some translation. Some translation translates that as your faith has healed you. Daughter, your faith has saved you and you're you are healed. Healing and salvation goes hand in hand. Hallelujah. That's why the Bible says by his stripes we are healed. We are saved and we are healed at the same time. 10th one, it is new creation. Hallelujah. God brings everything new. Not only that, he creates you and me with new life. He down the line, down the ages, he will even create the whole world into newness until heaven and earth becomes one. Because that is the prayer that we make every day. Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Let your kingdom come. Will be done as it is on earth. Let it be heaven and earth
48 becoming one. So, that is why this gospel is good news. >> [snorts] >> Not because simply God forgives us sinners, because you are in Christ and everything that the sin destroyed, God is going to restore it back to you. Hallelujah. It is salvation is a complete restoration project. I just want to leave with you page 13. Three stages of salvation, something for you to remember. What is salvation if someone ask? If someone says, "Are you saved?" Your answer can be, "Yes, I am saved." If someone really probes you and say, "Are you really saved? Because your lifestyle is not fully changed." Then you can look at them and say, "I'm being saved." Are you saved? Yes, I am saved. But on the process, people say, "You're You're still failing. You're still not You're falling into temptation." And you can tell them, "God is chiseling some things out of me. I am being saved." But I'm not fully saved. Um my body is not fully saved. Uh
54 I'm not in heaven now. Yeah, down the line I will have eternal life. I am yet to be saved. Let's repeat that three phrases. I am saved. I'm being saved. And I'm yet to be saved. Repeat after me. I am saved. I'm being saved. I'm yet to be saved. Hallelujah. I am saved from the punishment of sin. I'm saved from what the punishment of sin that could have happened on me, Christ took it on the cross. I'm saved from the punishment or the penalty of sin. I am being saved from the power of sin day-to-day. The power of sin is fading away and you're becoming stronger. You're becoming more like Christ. The power of sin is breaking away day by day, step by step. And I'm yet to be saved from the presence of sin, where there is no more
57 tears, where there is no more worries, where there is no more cries of sin. God's perfect salvation plan. Hallelujah. I am saved, I am being saved, and I'm yet to be saved. Page 15. Wow. The goal of salvation. What is the goal of salvation, Pastor? Why did God save us? You know what? God saved us so that you can have fellowship with God. Not just for your forgiveness of sin and you feel happy about it and and not feel guilty about it. It is not sin management. It is not just a ticket to heaven. You're saved so that you can communicate with your heavenly father. You can talk to God. You can walk with God. You are in Christ. You can experience the living savior day after day. You're saved for a fellowship with God. Hallelujah. Second, we are saved for good works.
01 We are saved for good works. Don't become like Ulsoor Lake or Hebbal Lake or Dead Sea Lake, whatever it is. You don't become a consumer. Be a person who produces the work of Christ. Reflect Christ in every area. Third, we are saved for his mission. Now that you are saved, you need to proclaim this message of salvation to everyone. That is what the goal of salvation is. Let's go to page 16. The assurance of salvation. Can I be sure that I am saved, pastor? Because some days I wake up and think that will God leave me? Will I go to heaven? Because my track record is not that great. What if I fall? What if I fail? What if God gives up on me? Please remember something. The foundation of your salvation
03 is not your grip on God, but it is God's grip on you. Hallelujah. I'll repeat that one more time. Your salvation is based not on how hard you hold on God. It is based on how God holds you. Hallelujah. Have you seen monkey and the children monkeys children? I don't know what they call. Monkey and the monkey's kid. You know how the the monkey's kid holds on to the monkey, the mother monkey? Mother monkey will be jumping from one branch to another. The kid has to hold on to the belly of the the mother. Our God is not like that. I feel our God is like a kangaroo, I think. You have to be in in You have to be inside. Hallelujah. Some other cat you have seen, right? Cat all depends on the mother. Carries
06 the cat, puts it there. No, no, no. It's a very bad example, but I'm just telling you. God is not like kangaroo for us to understand. You be in Christ. It is not your the assurance of salvation is not based on how hard you hold on to God. It is his grip that is holding you and me. Let's read Philippians chapter 1 verse 6. Let's read that from the screen. Being confident of this that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. Hallelujah. He's the one who's carrying you. Be confident of that. He is the one who is carrying you. Let's be confident of this one. Does that mean, pastor, I can live carelessly? I can live uh you know boring life or careless life or I can do whatever sin I want because grace is there to forgive me. No, no, no. A genuine believer continues to walk
09 with Christ. Not because he fears losing God's love, because he experienced God's love and you want to be grateful to God. Because he's the one who saved you and you hope to him. You love him because he paid a price for you. Hallelujah. Page 18. Now, everything comes down to this. If someone ask you, "How can I be saved?" Some of your friends or colleagues or you yourself is asking, "How can I be saved, pastor?" And this is the question that is asked in Acts chapter 16 by the jailer. "Sir, what must I do to be saved?" Thank God Paul didn't say you have to attend a Bible study. Or he didn't give one systematic theology textbook to that jailer. Study and pass the exam, then you will be saved. He said, "Believe in Lord Jesus and you will be saved. Put your confidence, trust, come and surrender your life to him." And if you want to experience the riches of
13 God's salvation follow those few simple steps that is mentioned in your booklet. First is come to Jesus. Run to Jesus. Just like that lady with an issue of blood, she came and touched the hem of the garment. Come to Jesus. Second, believe this good news that Jesus died for your sin. And all those 10 things that is mentioned there, you're redeemed, you're justified, you're sanctified, you're in one with Christ, you're adopted into the family of God. That is the good news of the gospel. He is your savior. Third, repent of your ways. Your pride, your selfishness, your brokenness. Repent of your ways and be baptized. Joining with Baptism is nothing but joining with Christ. And after joining with Christ, join with the community of Christ, and that is called as the church. Join the church. And then continue to abide in Christ to
17 experience the fullness of salvation. So, salvation is not merely I'm concluding. Salvation is not merely a doctrine to understand, but a gift to receive. Today, you must worship God little extra. You must thank God little extra. Have a heart of gratitude to God because God has purchased that salvation for you and for me. He saved you. He has given you a life to live. He has given you a hope to cherish. And the only response that we can have is have a grateful heart to God. Hallelujah. Be grateful to God. Be holy for a life that he gave us. Third, continue to do the mission that God has proclaimed in in and through our life. That's why it says in finally in Revelation 5:13, then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the sea and on the sea and all
20 that is in them saying to him who sits on the throne and to the lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever and ever. The end of the days the end of ages, there is only one throne, there is only one place that we worship, we bow down, we will see God face to face and we will say there's all glory, honor, power, blessings belongs to God. It is not my effort, but he's the one who saved. So this invitation is open for everyone. Come to Jesus today, open your heart to him, welcome his presence into your life and your life will never be the same again. Let's look to God in prayer. Heavenly Father, we just want to thank you for your word. We thank you for this doctrine of salvation. Thank you for the prize that you paid on the cross. Lord, this morning our hearts are filled with thanks to you.
23 Hallelujah. Thank you for your salvation. Thank you for saving us from the mighty clay you picked us up and placed us on the rock to stay and gave us a new song to sing. Let's all open our mouth and thank the Lord for a few minutes and say, "Lord, I just want to thank you for salvation.
