Isaiah 55:8-11—”For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down,
and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
When we wake up to a new day, we are grateful and give a shout of praise to our Maker, our Father, our Saviour. Can you imagine someone so big, powerful, creative, wise, … We may run out of adjectives to describe God but He was, is and always will be. There are so many evidences for His existence – Who feeds the birds in the air and every animal that walks the earth, or the fish in the sea? Who provides water, rain and snow so that plants flourish with buds, seeds and food for the sower?
Yes, God exists. He made and also looks after what He created. He created you. He watches over you. He has a plan for you. He wants you to walk the path He made for you. Then, just as the seeds grew with water, earth and sun provided by God, we will flourish when we obey God’s Word and follow in the path He set for us.
God’s plans have only one goal – to prosper. If we give up our thoughts and our ways and stick to following the leading of the Holy Spirit, we have no other way but to prosper. We have no other way out than to walk through to the promised land for us. If God gives you a promise, cling on to it – come what may. During this time, the devil will try to persuade you otherwise. Satan will try to magnify your doubts so that your faith will falter. But, it is at this time that we must hold on to the fact – God is good all the time. God is faithful all the time. His mercies endures forever. His plans for me are far greater than what I can plan because He cares for me more than I care for myself. Definitely his thoughts and ways are beyond my ways and incomprehensible. So then, why would we need to exert to the point of destruction, strive continuously , fight the everyday battle with my plans, run the rat race? All we need to do is follow the Word – ‘Be still and know that I am God’. Put our complete faith in God’s ways, God’s plans, God’s purpose, God’s timing and know that the only way out will be through prosperity and in eternal life with Him.
God’s Word cannot return empty to the Maker. Instead, apart from accomplishing the Word (to please the Maker who sent the Word), it also prospers the people in the situation – circumstance – job – college – marriage – career to which it was sent. Today, be still and seek His presence, follow His lead, and then God will send His Word for you: His healing Word, His prospering Word, His Word that breaks bondages, His Word that cancels all sins, His Word that renews and refreshes you. Be still and know that He is God.
