Mathew 6:34 —”Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Who do you believe? Do you have faith in God and His Word, the Bible? We cannot have fear and faith at the same time. If we know who our God is, how Big He is, how capable He is, it is difficult for our mind to harbor fear along with this knowledge and faith in God. Being anxious is a synonym to ‘having fear’ – fear of the unknown, fear of our tomorrows. We will have fear of our tomorrows in terms of provision, safety, etc. based on who we rely on for our tomorrows. If we rely on our wealth, position, job, relations, superiors etc., we will have some tension because all these things are counted as temporary – wealth, position, job may not be there tomorrow; relations and superiors may change or change their mind or attitude to us tomorrow.
The only faithful relationship and the only true love that we can depend on is God, through Lord Jesus. We are His through the Cross. There is no recorded love greater than this anywhere. We must maintain our relationship with Him through prayer. God commanded us to pray daily to:
– get strength to bear us up under our daily troubles
– arm us against the temptations that attend them
– let trials, troubles or temptations to move us.
If we trust in God for our everything with totally submission to His will, we will see much happiness in our lives instead of anxiousness. When we are in total submission to follow God’s will, Holy Spirit will convince us of our sins along the way so that we can repent and take away the worldliness of our hearts.
Heavenly Father, help us not to be worried about tomorrow. Instead, help us to learn to look only at you, God – at how we must go about our today to run the race You called us for, to fulfill our purpose, to stay in righteousness following the lead of the Holy Spirit. We thank you for defining enough of things to keep us busy today and not leave time to be anxious for the morrow. We thank and praise you, Father, for Your plan for our lives. In Jesus precious name we pray, Amen.
