Philippians 1:19 – “For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.”
It’s tempting to think that once we turn to Christ, life should become a bed of roses. The truth however is that, while we may get roses, we also have to bear with the thorns. Life in this world comes with many afflictions – physical and emotional. The good news for the believer is that we don’t have to go through them alone.
Jesus overcame it all on the cross, and therefore we are conquerors with Him. We have hope that God will work in our mess and fashion it into something beautiful. While we may not exactly understand it now, we know without doubt that God will work on our behalf. Just as Paul declares in the verse above, let us rely on prayer and the help of the Holy Spirit while we wait for our deliverance.
Prayer: Lord, grant me grace to go through the trials in my life. I know I will come out victorious in the end because You are on my side. Help me always hope and never give up. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
