Righteousness Demonstrated

Romans 3:25

Whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness.

Saul of Tarsus, the author of Romans, was born into privilege and influence. Trained by the religious elite, he was driven by a fierce zeal to be right with God through the law. He built his entire worldview on this foundation and had it all figured out.

So, when Saul first heard about Jesus Christ, everything in him revolted. Yet one encounter with the risen Christ was all it took to shatter his carefully constructed worldview. On the road to Damascus, Saul learned that human righteousness is futile (Isaiah 64:6). Only faith in God’s finished work on the cross can set us right with Him. If Saul, the ultimate keeper of the law, could not achieve righteousness through his own efforts, who could?

God demonstrated His righteousness by sending His only Son, so that all who believe in Him receive right standing with God. We cannot work out our own righteousness. Instead, we must depend daily on what Christ has already accomplished and rest in our identity as God’s children.

As God’s children, we can boldly enter His presence. It is not our righteousness that brings us near, but His work within us. We have to die daily to our selfish desires so God’s purpose can come alive in our lives.

May God give us boldness to draw near to Him (Hebrews 10:19–22) and may our lives radiate His righteousness! Remember, righteousness is not earned; it is a gift God demonstrated through Christ. Today, walk faithfully as His child and show a broken world the hope that’s found in Him!
