Psalm 84:11-12: For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
God is a sun and shield, meaning He will guide and direct His people from darkness to light. He is a shield against the enemies of His children. He will protect and keep His children safe. He will give grace and glory and will not withhold any good thing from them who walks uprightly. Blessed is everyone who trusts in this God.
God is both a sun and a shield for His children who walk in His ways. Once upon a time, all of us walked in darkness without knowing where we are going, but because of His love for us, He ensured that we find the path of light through Him. Had it not been for God’s love or forgiveness, we would have lost the way to eternity. We would have still been in the darkness of sin. He always protects His children and keeps them safe. He is our refuge and strength. When we walk in His guidance and protection, we will be able to walk with the righteousness and integrity of our heart which will eventually usher in our lives the blessings that are due us. He will not withhold any good thing from us. In order for us to receive all these things, we need to trust Him. He has never let anyone walk away from His presence emptyhanded after having walked a life of faithfulness and obedience to Him.
Let God be merciful unto us. Allow Him to be your Sun and Shield and receive your blessing by walking in His ways.
