Psalm 31:23: Oh love the Lord, all you His saints! for the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person.
The Lord is worthy of being loved because He keeps His people in safety from injury, harm, or danger. A proud person is always paid in full. There is a divine protection to those who fear Him and are faithful. He loves a person who is humble and upright in heart.
The scriptures teach us that God gives grace to the humble but resists the proud. He keeps His children out of harm’s way. Because of the trust that His children have in Him, He will preserve them. He preserves those who are faithful to Him or in other words, those who are committed to Him despite every odds. He sustains and blesses those who are loyal to Him even in perilous times, even when they lose everything. He preserves those who remain faithful to Him even if He withdraws from them for a little time. Hope and trust does not come easily. It takes several rounds of tests and trials for us to trust God completely. When God sees such a person, He preserves them. He loves their integrity of heart and commitment to Him.
God does not allow a proud person to flourish forever. He is not interested in them. He sees to it that they are paid in full while here. They may seem to grow for some time, but it is the righteous who will stand tall always. God does it all for them. Because of His righteous acts, let us learn to love the Lord.
