Psalm 71:14 – “But I will hope continually, And will praise you yet more and more.”
“As for me, I will always have hope”. (NIV)
When we think of hope, we don’t associate it, or think, that hope is a direct consequence of suffering. Neither do we think that we should rejoice with suffering, when we only think naturally.
However, when we look at the Scriptures, only under the light of God’s grace – and His complete control of our lives – we can not only rejoice in our suffering, but also be certain that our suffering will produce in us: hope.
When we read Romans 5:3-5, and work our way backwards on the verse, we can conclude that hope is a consequence of proven character, or experience; experience is a consequence of perseverance; and perseverance is a consequence of suffering.
Without suffering under God’s control, we will not achieve hope. Hope for God’s help. Hope that does not end. Hope that requires us to “wait patiently and confidently.”(Romans 8:25) Hope to “wait on the Lord, to be courageous, knowing that He will strengthen our heart.” (Psalm 27:14).
So when we hope continually, we will praise our God yet more and more, because “hope does not disappoint us.”(Romans 5:5). Amen!

Yes we are called to persevere, to not be discouraged, to continue to hope, to keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.
Remembering that He is in complete control and in charge of everything we go through. He does not miss a thing and He does not overlook the tiniest detail.
“As for God, His way is perfect.” (Psalm 18:30)
We pray that the Lord will strengthen you and continue to shield and guide you. You are precious to Him.
