Colossians 2:13 – “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses.”
“For this my son was dead, and is alive again.” (Luke 15:24)
We were once all dead men and women walking. Sounds eerie, but so real when we look at it from a spiritual perspective. Sin not only separates us from the love of God, it also makes us numb to the grace and mercy of our loving Father.
The beautiful parable about the lost son, or prodigal son, illustrates the tremendous power of love and forgiveness available to us when we repent from our sins. After asking his father to give him his share of his inheritance, the prodigal son left his father’s house, went to a distant country, spent all his money, lived in poverty, ate the food given to pigs. Only after he came to his senses he realized the mistakes he had committed, which lead to repentance, humility, and only then he set out towards his father’s house again.
He was lost, and dead. But deep inside he knew his father’s love, and love compelled him to move towards his home, where his father ran to him, embraced him, and kissed him. The dead son was brought to life again.
Let’s accept the love and forgiveness which comes from the Father.
Let’s repent from our trespasses and sin.
Let’s allow His Mercy and Grace to wash over us, and let’s enjoy the freedom of forgiveness through Christ Jesus, who forgives all our trespasses, and makes us alive again!
