As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:10 (NKJV)
God has gifted every one of us with spiritual gifts. It is the reflection of God’s Grace and we must acknowledge it and use it for the Kingdom of God.
The Holy Spirit himself determines and chooses what gift you will have by His sovereign choice. The reason He chooses is that He knows why we exist, what our purpose is, and what good works He preplanned for us to do (Eph. 2:10). You need a certain spiritual ability to accomplish what He wants you to accomplish in your life, so He chooses what gift you get and what you don’t.
The inflow of our spiritual gift from God should result in a beneficial outflow of His grace to others. Gifts are not for our selfish ambition but for the edification of the body of Christ. The grace that pours into our lives should become a channel of God’s blessing, which in turn is willingly poured out in service to others for His greater glory and praise.
You are accountable to God for what you do with the gift that He has given you. A “steward” is someone who takes what someone has given him, and uses it in a way the giver intended. we are “stewards” of everything God has given to us, and that includes our gifts and abilities. God showed us in Jesus’ Parable of the Talents that He is not looking so much at what gift He gave you but at what you are doing with the gift He has given you.
let’s ask ourselves what gift God has for me. Am I using the gift for His kingdom? If you do not know what is your gift let’s ask God to reveal it to you to serve Him.
