2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you.  (NKJV)

We live in a world that is fallen. There are no guarantees. Life is filled with disappointments; it is filled with uncertainty. How can we possibly experience peace in this kind of world? Our ability is powerless to address the needs of the soul.

It is God who alone can lift our heavy burden; who alone can turn our sufferings into irresistible displays of his grace; who alone can fill the whole of our soul with the manifest fullness of his glory; who alone can do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works within us.

To every one of us, God’s promise is assuring us that He, Himself will deliver His peace, personally to us when we seek Him. It is that peace that provides stability within our souls and even gives us a sense of joy regardless of the circumstances. . Only His peace can dissolve our fears and will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.

His peace is our protection against the plan of the enemy. when we are at peace, in place of rest, we position ourselves in the purpose of God. We know what is God’s will for our life. We can easily love others and forgive others.

Peace is the heart of the Christian faith. Isaiah writes, “… they were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord. This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name” (Isaiah 63:14). We make God’s name glorious by resting in Him, then it’s obvious the peace we are experiencing isn’t coming from our circumstances but from God.
