Promise Keeper

Psalm 89:34 NKJV

“My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.”

Have you ever heard one child ask another, “Promise?” It’s to ensure the other child intends to keep their word. The world around us is such that when someone promises something, we double-check to make sure they really mean it. Thankfully, when it comes to our Lord Jesus Christ, He always, always keeps His promises.

The Bible reminds us in Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” When God says something, He will do it! It is not in God’s nature to go back on His Word. He is a promise keeper, not a promise breaker!

Has God given you a promise that hasn’t yet been fulfilled? Do not lose heart. God has promised that those who put their trust in Him will never be put to shame (Romans 10:11). He is a promise-keeping, miracle-working, way-making God, and your faith in Him will never be in vain. Stay close to the Lord and strengthen yourself in Him. It’s only a matter of time before He fulfills all His promises towards you.
