Hebrews 10:22 NKJV
“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
The concept of cleansing holds a significant position in the Bible throughout the Old and the New Testaments. A clean conscience helps us approach God with faith in our hearts, and without any hidden agendas or selfish desires. Though our minds may be filled with overwhelming thoughts, we can find strength to persevere in our relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit.
Today’s verse urges believers to draw close to God in their daily walk and hold fast to faith amid trials and difficulties. Our daily walk involves a battle against two beings – the self and the enemy. However, the truth of the gospel is that our powerful and risen Saviour defeated both on the cross. A life of surrender and submission to God would help us walk in communion with Him and endure hardships.
Dear heavenly Father, we’re grateful that You desire intimacy with Your children. Help us have faith and enter Your presence with a sincere heart and a pure conscience. May we seek You above all else and remember that Your love never fails or falters. Help us align our hearts with Your vision all the days of our lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
