Proverbs 18:10
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
Most of us have never had to run to a shelter to protect or save our lives from an attack or a natural disaster. However, there are places where shelters or bunkers are critical and equipped to save the population.
Today’s verse is an assurance that our shelter is the powerful “name” of Jesus, our Lord. He is our strong tower, our rock, a place where we take refuge from the spiritual attacks of the enemy.
“Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God” (Psalm 20:7). We, the righteous who trust in the name of the Lord, run to Him, and we are safe. Safe from the attacks of the enemy and safe from harm. God puts us in a high place, and He sends His angels to protect and deliver us.
In Psalm 50:15, God says, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” Let’s hold fast to this promise, because He who spoke this is faithful. He will do exactly what He said He would do.
Call upon the name of Jesus, for He is a strong tower. Run to Him and be saved!
Prayer:
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your Name alone is so powerful. It is the only name I trust! Amen!
