Deuteronomy 7:9
Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.
Throughout the Holy Bible, we see several references where God reminds His people to take a step forward in faith with the awareness of who He is. While it is natural for a person to hesitate to follow where God calls due to mistrust in their own abilities, God calls us to trust His faithfulness above everything else.
In Deuteronomy 7:9, Moses reminds Israel that their covenant relationship with God rested not on their perfection but on His reliability. Even when circumstances cause people to fail at keeping their promise to God, we have a heavenly Father who remembers to honour His part of the covenant, regardless of anything around.
God desires for us to be united with Him, because of which His mercy is endless. As we walk obediently with Christ and honour His command, we get to learn more about God’s lovingkindness, forgiveness, and faithfulness, unlike anything the world ever offers us.
It is important to note that our obedience doesn’t earn God’s faithfulness — it aligns us with it. The more we walk in His ways, the more we see how His mercy threads through every moment of our lives.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love so profound and strong. Help us trust in Your faithfulness above all else today. Guide us to repentance and help us keep Your commandments. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
