Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
All of us work faithfully and work hard, nearly sweating out our efforts just for the wages that we would receive at the end of the month. The same counts for sin. The wages of sin is death. What a terrible reward! Thank God for the gift of God, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
The gift that Jesus has given us is the gift of eternal life, a life where there is no more pain or sorrow or tears, a life that will be spent in heaven for ever and ever. This joy of eternal life is nothing compared to the wrong pleasure and wrong joy that sin brings with it coupled with its deadly wages. Sin is something that some people love to be captured into along with the wages that comes as a package whereas eternal life is something where we don’t have to work for. It is just a free gift, a gift that God gives to everyone who believes in His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus has set us free from the clutches of sin, and we have been gifted with the gift of eternal life. It does not require any working, any sweating, any efforts, or hard work. It just requires our heart of belief. Do you want to receive this gift which is freely given? Trust and believe in Jesus, the giver of it.
