He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4 (NKJV)

This verse is much explicitly understood from the message version of the Bible, wherein it says, “His huge outstretched arms protect you – under them you’re perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm.” Psalm 91:4 (MSG).

We all remember our childhood days, how safe we would  feel in the presence of our parents. We know that when mom and dad are around nobody can harm us. But as we grow, we move out of our parental comforts and are expected to stand up for ourselves.

We roll our sleeves and try hard to make a mark in the world in which we live.

We must admit, it’s hard. It’s not easy facing many criticisms, undeserved allegations and hurts that are hurled up against us. We long for an arm that can hug us and say “ it’s all going to be OK”.

Our Jesus says, His arms are wide open to receive us, His outstretched arm protects us, it not only comforts us and strengthens us, but it also fends off or pushes away those attackers who try to pull us down, with sarcasms, offences, discouragement, and allegations.

As the song says; “Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there”.
