Are You Thirsty?

Isaiah 44:3 – “For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring.”

One of the dictionary definitions of the word ‘thirst’ is, “a strong desire for something.” We have all thirsted for different things in life – a new gadget, a job, a promotion, a family, a higher income, better relationships… While none of these thirsts are wrong, we must ask ourselves what we thirst for most of all.

Our possessions, achievements and relationships may make us happy for a little while, but they will not entirely satisfy us. When we seek after earthly things, we will always be left wanting more. In today’s verse, God promises that when we thirst for Him above all else, He will pour out His living water into our dry souls. He will revive our parched spirits and give us more of Himself.

What does your soul thirst for the most? Do you wish your life was more fulfilling? You will not find true satisfaction in anything else but Jesus. He is the only One who can truly fill your heart to overflowing. Open your heart and invite Jesus into your life today. Once He takes control, you will lack no good thing. He will lead you into the best days of your life.
