Psalm 91:14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
Joseph sat huddled in a corner of his jail cell, thinking about the past few months. He had been sold by his brothers to slave traders, who brought him to Egypt, where he was sold as a manservant.
Though his life was pathetic, Joseph never stopped loving God.
He worked to the best of his abilities at Potipher’s house. As a reward for his uncanny knack to attract prosperity, Potipher promoted him to head helper.
Unfortunately, Potipher’s wife wanted more from Joseph than just her evening tea, which did not sit well with him. To exact revenge for her humiliation, Potipher’s wife falsely accused Joseph of rape.
Now, he was in prison, reminiscing the past. Was he bitter with God? Surprisingly, not! The Holy Bible tells us that Joseph’s behaviour was commendable even in prison.
At the right time, Joseph was called out of prison to interpret the King’s dream. He soon moved up the ranks in the king’s court to become the Prime Minister of Egypt. All, at the right time! (Genesis 41:14-57)
God did not promise a carefree life for righteous people. In fact, the Holy Bible says, “He sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” – Matthew 5:45
But the rain will not wash you away if you build your life on the Lord Jesus!
The Holy Bible reads, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” – Matthew 7:24-25
If you love the Lord Jesus and build your life on His Word, you will have nothing to worry about! Even when troubles come, they won’t last long enough to hurt you.
God will raise you up at the right time. Just wait on Him!
