The Wisdom of the Wise Men

John 1:14  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

It’s Christmas day!! And that can only mean one thing… It’s time to CELEBRATE!!

But, hold on… What are we celebrating?

Over 2000 years ago, the greatest prophecy in all of history was fulfilled! The Messiah was born to save mankind from impending destruction. He was the only begotten Son of God, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! He was called Jesus!

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” – Matthew 1:21

Contradictory to expectation, He wasn’t born in a palace. In fact, He was born in a lowly manger, surrounded by cattle, wrapped in dirty cloth and placed in a cradle of hay! No wonder the Jews did not recognize the Messiah.

The only people who knew about His birth were the wise men from the east.

Have you wondered how men from the east found the Saviour, while the Jews who were praying for the Messiah for centuries could not even recognize Him?

The answer is quite simple. The wise men from the east found the Saviour because they had their eyes fixed on heaven. They were not blinded by traditions.

God commanded a star to lead them to the birthplace of the Lord Jesus because they had a real relationship with Him!

Often, we feel lost in life because we don’t have our eyes fixed on heaven. On this very special occasion, let’s be wise like the ‘wise’ men and submit our life’s journey to the will of God! The road will surely lead us to the Saviour!!

As we pass along, let’s act as beacons for those who are lost, because the Holy Bible says, The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who is wise wins souls.” – Proverbs 11:30.

Something to think about: The world knows about Christmas. But do they know about the Lord Jesus Christ?
