Be Blessed

Matthew 5:3-6–“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

Before we arise and build another person, we must introspect our stand in Christ. Jesus taught His committed followers ‘Blessed are those who’ live in:
-total submission,
-surrender,
-self contentment or
-pursuit of God as their very basic ‘need’.
When we are poor in spirit (at the end of our rope after submitting our time, talent, or resources), God watches us. With less of us, there is more of God in our life. His ways are best. Blessings come on us.
When we mourn (and feel we surrendered all we had), only then can the One most dear to us embrace us.
When we are meek (to accept in contentment who we are in Christ, dead to ourselves and living for God), we find ourselves as proud owners of everything that cannot be bought.
When we hunger and thirst (and work up a good appetite for God), we are rewarded with the best meal we can ever eat. God fulfills our basic need when we are lost in Him. We forget physical hunger and thirst when we have all in Christ.

Today, remember to work on submission, surrender, self contentment and pursuit of God that brings God’s promise of blessedness. You will stand tall to build another person for God. Father God thank you for your promise. Help and guide me as I continue to yearn for you in all areas of my life. In Jesus name I pray…Amen.
