Psalm 95:6 – “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.”

Bowing down to royalty, leaders and elders is a mark of respect in many countries around the world. When you bow down to humans, you earn their favor for only a limited period of time. And, you won’t always get what you’re expecting from them. In contrast, bowing down to the Lord our God is a lifestyle that will impact every area of your life.

Whether you’re physically kneeling down in prayer and worship, or spiritually humbling yourself before the Lord Jesus Christ, it is an act of great humility. Bowing down before the Lord implies you acknowledge His authority over your life, you submit to Him and believe He is in control. It’s an act of adoration – an expression of your awe, and gratitude for who He is and what He’s done for you. And the blessings of bowing down to the Lord are many. When you humble yourself before the Lord, He will life you up (James 4:10).

As we begin another week, let’s start with the right posture – one that King David himself recommended. Let us worship and bow down before our Master and King. Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. Submit yourself to the Lord, remain obedient to His will and He will lift you up to greater heights!
