Jude 1:20: “You, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.”

A sportsperson, or, for example, an athlete, will work on strengthening and building their body to respond to their sport’s unique demands. This can be achieved by following certain disciplines and adhering to training. In a similar way, Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, insists in this verse on how to persevere until we reach the eternal life that Christ kept for us. It is imperative that we work on building ourselves in Faith and Prayer.

Faith is the foundation of our relationship with God. We are called to invest our time and effort in building ourselves up in our most holy faith.

How can we achieve this? Consistency is the key to unlocking any triumph. This involves discipline on our end by reading and studying the word of God, meditating, and living in obedience to God’s teachings. Jesus set aside time for Himself to commune with God. Commit and set aside a time for yourselves to spend time with God. As we grow in Faith, we prepare ourselves better to face the challenges and trials that life brings. Our shield of Faith will protect us from doubts and discouragements and enable us to stand firm and win the battle.

Secondly, Prayer is our lifeline to communicating with God. The Holy Spirit helps us articulate our deepest needs and aligns our prayers with God’s purpose for our lives. Be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to lead, counsel, and empower your journey with Him.

When we build our Faith and pray in the Holy Spirit, we develop resilience to face the challenges, and our lives will be transformed!
