Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
As believers, we are called to be part of a community that supports, encourages, and loves one another. It reflects God’s heart and His desire for His people. It is a precious gift from God.
In the world in which we live, where division and rivalry prevail, living in unity stands as a counter-cultural witness. It is a way for God’s children to show the world that love transcends differences and that God’s love is all-encompassing.
What are the steps that we can adopt to have this blessing of Unity?
- Humility is the foundation of Unity. Be humble and consider others needs above our own, valuing their unique contributions.
- Practise Forgiveness. Let us be quick to forgive and show grace to one another when there is a conflict. Let go of grudges.
- Be Honest in your communication. Communication is key to building Unity. Encourage dialogue and active listening in relationships.
- Pray for Unity. Unity within the family, friends, church, and larger community. Seek God to bring healing and restoration.
