Colossians 3:16
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Let us understand Colossians 3:16 part by part so we can implement it in our lives and have a closer relationship with our Lord.

The word dwell remains the same in most of the translations and versions because the word holds greater prominence. Dwell means to live in or be at home. We should allow God’s word to live in us and have a home in our minds and hearts. The word of God is the greatest wisdom of all; it is the biggest strength in all areas of our lives.

We are told to teach and admonish; we need to help each other and constantly lift people by God’s word by being kind and gentle to one another. Our fellowship with God and people determines our character.

Singing praise and worship is not just from our lips but from our hearts. As we grow in our spiritual journey with God, growing in an expression of praise through hymns, psalms, and worship songs with grace and thankfulness is extremely important. Through thick and thin, God’s word and praise are our strongest weapons, which we can use in all battles to win and have peace in all circumstances.
