Psalm 37:5
“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”
Psalm 37 contrasts the heritage of the righteous with the calamity of the wicked.
We often see that godless and materialistic people prosper. And yes, we may be tempted to feel jealous or covet what they have. However, remember that people who are money-focused only accumulate wealth on earth that can be destroyed and which they cannot take with them after they die (Matthew 6:19-20).
In contrast, we serve a just God who watches over the righteous. In His great mercy, He has promised the righteous a hope and a bright future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We are called to wait patiently on the Lord, trust in Him, and live in obedience to His Word. We spend time with God and delight ourselves in His presence by reading the Word and communicating with Him. As we commit whatever we do to God and trust Him fully, He will establish our plans and publicly reveal our integrity (Psalm 37:4-6).
The righteous will experience the desires of their hearts and an abundance of peace. With our hearts stayed on God, we will want what He wants. When we strive to do God’s will, our desires will be met along with His divine peace. The Bible promises that even our descendants will be blessed.
So reaffirm your choice today – is your end goal money or faith in God? While worldly wealth may wither and fade away, those who trust in the Lord are promised His provision, help, and deliverance.
