Day by Day with the LORD

Psalm 37:18 – The LORD knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. (KJB)

Another version of this Psalm reads: “Day by day the LORD takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever.” (NLT) Isn’t it good to know how carefully our God takes care of us? When God adopts us, he sees us as upright, innocent, perfect, wholehearted, blameless, undefiled people. Then he knows our days. He knows everything that will happen to us. He takes care of us day in and day out.  He knows exactly what we need, and when we need it and he provides it.  Of course, all according to his will.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:28a “that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.”  This also means that our Lord delivers us from all harm, and when we don’t understand why things did not go as we planned, it is because God has a much bigger plan for us.  We can rest assured that our Father in Heaven is 100% aware of all that we have, or own, or go thru while on earth. We have what we need, his blessings and grace and mercy follow us.  He delivers us from evil, keeps us from making wrong decisions, he leads our every step, every day of our lives.

But it doesn’t stop there. He also promises us an inheritance that will last forever. Well, we know that any inheritance we receive here on earth eventually ends, or, we cannot enjoy it forever here because we have a certain number of days to live here on this earth.  So, it is clear that what our good Father has for us as an inheritance is in Heaven. An inheritance that cannot be taken away from us, an inheritance that doesn’t end, that doesn’t fade away, an inheritance that cannot be stolen. An irrevocable inheritance, an irrevocable promise. Praise be to God, who loves us all so very much!
