Destination Promised Land

2 Corinthians 1: 20 For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him amen, to the glory of God through us.

Are you waiting on the promises of God?

Joseph had a unique relationship with God. One night he had a divine dream in which he rose to a high position, and his brothers bowed before him. This dream did not sit well with his brothers, who sold him as a slave to foreign travellers.

Though Joseph must have felt rejected and lonely, he did not lose faith in God. Not even when he was falsely accused, of behaving inappropriately, with his master’s wife and thrown in prison. From being a slave to a prisoner, surely now he would lose faith in God’s promises. Or so satan thought.

But Joseph did not question God’s promises. He waited patiently as God put things in order for his release from prison. Soon after, he was in the spotlight! God created an opportunity for him to shine, in Pharaoh’s presence, following which he was designated as the Prime Minister of Egypt.

Joseph, was greatly rewarded for his unwavering trust in God!

Yet, his brothers bowing before him was an impossible ask. After all, they lived in a different country altogether. And with no motorized transport, why, in the world, would anyone walk miles to visit a distant land?

But Joseph knew when God promises, He delivers!

A bitter famine in Joseph’s birthplace forced his brothers to visit Egypt. They bowed before Joseph, not recognizing him, and requested food to tide them over until the rains returned. Joseph embraced them in forgiveness and filled their sacks to the brim.

When God promises, He will bring it to fruition! At times, life’s journey may seem like it’s run off course. But as long as we give God control over our lives the destination will always remain the ‘Promised Land’.
