Divine Commitment

Psalm 37:5-6 “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”

A lot of times we do good deeds that go unnoticed. Our efforts become in vain as it lacks acknowledgement. It makes us feel devalued and invisible. Unfortunately, this is what happens when we commit to the world and expect validation from it.

It is at this point that the above verse comes to us as a promise. It is a known fact that the God of the Holy Bible is a great rewarder. He delights in us and can never hold back when it comes to blessing His people. This is because He loves us and has made an everlasting commitment towards those who love Him. However, we should be careful to understand that we stand to receive His commitment as a promise, only if we too walk with Him, in His ways. Easier said than done? Well, when we see how wonderful and marvellous Lord Jesus is, submitting to His ways become easy. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

And nothing pleases our Lord more than a loving and obedient heart. When He finds one, He promises to bestow upon them His choicest blessings. He does not only pardon their sins but goes one step further to ensure that they are justified despite their short comings.

If you are trapped in a hopeless situation, this may be a sign for you to receive Christ Jesus in your life and make a new commitment to Him. This may be the only commitment that you will never regret.

Dear Lord, I want to thank You for Your faithfulness, that I have received innumerable times, even though I didn’t deserve it. I know that I have strayed from You many times, but today, I want to make a brand-new commitment to You. I want to walk with You and give You full control. In Jesus name, Amen!
