Do what the word says

James 1:25:  But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

As long as we live in accordance with the word of God, we will be blessed in whatever we do.  James urges the believers to look into the perfect law of liberty which is the word of God, to continue in it and not to forget what he or she heard from it.

We should not forget the word of God be it hearing it in the form of a sermon or reading it.  If we forget what we heard or what we read it is like a person who saw himself or herself in a mirror and just forgot how they looked.  Is this not weird?  Unless we safeguard God’s word in our heart, how can we bind the enemy? How can we defeat the powers of hell unless we know how to attack them? Unless we know that there is healing and deliverance through the word of God, how can we pray for deliverance and healing for others as well as for us?  Take heed to not forget the word of God.  James is encouraging the believers to do what God’s word says.  We should obey the word of God fully and not partially because partial obedience is also called as disobedience.

In order for us to be blessed in all walks of life, we should be able to engage ourselves in constant reading and meditation of God’s word.  God’s word or the law of freedom or liberty should penetrate deep within in order for us to deploy it in any type of situation.  When we do what God wants us to do or rather when we obey God fully through His word, God shall bless everything that pertains to us and we shall be a blessing to others.
