John 11:25—”Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”
In this section of scripture, we see the story of Lazarus death. At the time, Jesus was away from Judea. When he heard that Lazarus was sick, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” Did Jesus know that Lazarus’ had died? Yes, He knew Lazarus timeline and used this as an opportunity to bring glory to God while in His human form. What happened next? Martha knew as a believer in Jesus:
– Jesus was the Messiah that had been prophesied of in the Old Testament; He was the Son of God.
– Jesus could ask for anything and God would grant it, even though Lazarus had been dead for four days.
– Lazarus would rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
However, Martha didn’t expect Jesus to do anything at that moment due to a lack of faith for her situation. Therefore, she had no expectation of coming good and a lack of hope in her situation. But Jesus increased Martha’s faith and hope by raising her brother, who was dead for four days, back to life!
Jesus said – “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” This was true as we have seen in the story of Lazarus’ life. It is also true for you. Jesus is the resurrection by His victory over death and sin on the Cross. If we believe, we will live eternally in Heaven with Him after our death; thus we can say we will never die, because we will have life after our earthly death, in spirit with God. Jesus said, “No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back one word of what I said”; “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
Today, Jesus gives you a new hope. Jesus loves you and wants to renew your faith through this hope. Jesus can bring back your dead situation: your departed marriage, your lifeless relationship with your child, your late career, your unresponsive spouse hunt, your deceased relationships with family and friends, and so on. He brought Lazarus back to life and He has the power of the same God who brought Jesus back from the dead. He wants to help revive your dead situation today. Are you going to allow Him to? Are you going to put faith in Him and bring to Him your dead situation? Are you going to hope to see your miracle of life in that situation today?
Father God, that I am agreeing and asking for the dead situation to be brought back to life today through the victory on Jesus’ Cross. Help us to revive the dead situation with the Breath of Life that You gave to create every human who walks on the earth today. We thank you for Your Son, and for sending Him for us. This we ask you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
