Exalt the Lord Jesus Christ

Isaiah 12:4 NKJV

“Praise the Lord, call upon His name; declare His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His name is exalted.”

Today’s verse is a reminder for us to do four things:

  • Praise the Lord
  • Call on His Name
  • Declare His deeds among the people
  • Exalt His Name

As children of God, we don’t usually neglect the first two points. We praise God when we sing a worship song, or when we’re filled with gratitude for what’s done for us. We also call on the Name of the Lord in prayer, especially when we’re desperate for God to work something out for us. So, let’s focus on the last two points on the list today.

When was the last time we declared what God has done for us? Your testimony is powerful because it is your personal experience. Pray and ask God to help you share your testimony with someone this week. Then keep an eye out for opportunities to share what God has done in your life, and how knowing Him has blessed you.

Remember to give God the glory due to His Name – that’s how we exalt Him. Let’s not pretend that it’s our wisdom or skills that have brought us to where we are. It’s because of the grace of God, His wisdom, and the talents and opportunities that He’s graciously given us. Let’s be intentional this week and exalt the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ through our lives.
